Flamingos Hotel

"I stayed at this hotel last year, and while it had a great location for what we needed - close to some excellent restaurants and a bus stop just steps away - our experience was far from ideal. When we first arrived, we were placed in a room that felt like a medieval cellar - The moldy smell was overwhelming, and it seemed like the room hadn’t been used in decades. To make matters worse, we encountered bugs in this room, and the bathroom was not in the best condition, with a yellowish tint that likely came from age rather than poor cleaning and standing in the bath was barely possible due to its size. After some heated discussions with the management, they did attempt to rectify the situation, allowing us to change rooms twice, but unfortunately, each room had its own issues. The second room had a cleaning problem with pubic hairs in the bath and longer hairs in the sink. The moldy smell persisted in every room, and while the third room was somewhat better, the moldy smell and bug issues continued, but we eventually stopped raising these concerns, as it became clear nothing was going to change. Despite the generally positive reviews I had read before booking, our stay was quite horrible. I’m not someone who just needs a place to sleep - I value moderate comfort and this hotel simply didn’t provide that. I’m sharing this experience to hopefully save other travelers, especially those who might have similar expectations, from a disappointing vacation. I won’t be sharing photos or more detailed specifics, as the management did try to make things right, but it took far too much effort on our part and half of our vacation was already ruined before things slightly improved."

"We chose this hotel for its closeness to Chania town and because they have family rooms (ours was a 4 bed appartment). It is located about 15 min from town of Chania with the local bus. My 8-year old daughter was very pleasantly suprised, that we were going to stay in our own "llitle house", village style room. They are furnished in cretan traditional style and we also had a seperate bedroom, small kitchen with fridge and a dining table, plus a small terrace on the top of the stairs (some stairs to climb with a suitcase with no elevator or porter however). There are also 2 airconditioning devices in our appartment (bedroom and main area). They serve only breakfast (vegetables, fruit, egg omelets, bacon, delicious homemade cakes and croisssants) , which was perfect for us, we like to dine in different restaurants during our holiday. There is also big Lidl market and a greek supermarket Synka close (about 10 minutes walk from the hotel) in the Agioi Apostoloi area, if you want to cook for yourself. The hotel is situated near 2 sandy beaches, walking distance and one a bit further down the road. We were very satisfied with the service and we would stay here again."

"We liked the approximity to a beautiful beach with trees and nice cafe nearby. Very friendly and helpful staff. Cozy building and nice pool. The rooms have kitchenette and some tools. Breakfast was ok just to get a bite and start your day. I will be coming back hopefully there because it ticks my boxes for a comfortable stay."
