"I spent my 57th Birthday here and had the best time. I have been to Egypt many times and although i love it, and have liked the hotels we have stayed in, the food and drink usually lets the holiday down, but not here. There are 6 resturants to chose from, the only one you have to pre-book is the Steak house and we didn't get around to it as there so many other places to eat we didnt need to, Paella, Asian,Itallian, plus loads more, all fantastic,. also the drink was of good quality too, including the wine. We loved the Freshly squeezed orange juice at breakfast.
The rooms are massive with plenty of wardrobe space and a safe and coffee and mini bar. The beds and linen and pillows are the best and very comfy. There are so many pools, 3 are heated this time of year, (March) but i'm sure during the summer all the pools will be used, which is great for a bit of space and peace if you just want to chill as the place is so big!
We used the beach everyday and sat by the lagoon, it was lovely. The Lifeguards are so helpful ( and funny) and will set everything up for you, I loved the wind breaks and the comfy chair and footstool, i used to sit in the chair and ready my book everyday. Please tip all the staff, they really deserve it, we gave them dollars as they can pay paper money into their bank accounts, but not coins. I know everybody says it, but the staff here are the very best, they love the British people, and we had the best time with all of them, they really looked after us, especially on my birthday. Iv'e never been so spoilt. I must mention Hasheem Mustafa, our favourite Beach Barman, he always made sure we had a drink and i miss my morning iced coffees now i'm home. We spoke to Sian on the entertainment team everyday too,( long red curly hair) although we didnt partake in any games or activities, she is from Cornwall and is new to the hotel, a really lovely girl, who also works so hard like all the staff do.
As far as the hotel is concerned, its new, and the Chain, "Pick Albatros", has really thought about everything, the grounds are huge so we walked a lot, which is helpful as the food is so lovely. lol. There are bikes everywhere that you just just take if you can't be bothered to walk, they are great fun. The beach is great, the tide goes out a long way so not that great for swimming ( hence the salt water lagoon).
The house Reef is at the end of the very long jetty, the red flag was flying when we were there so we didnt get to snorkle, but a walk up to the end of the pier at early evening , should ensure you see plenty of beautiful fish. We did.
We had a facial and pedicure twice at the Salon,. The girls are so lovely and good at what they do, we had a good laugh with them too. My face is so smooth now.
We had a massage at the spa, which was ok, but we went to the salt pool after and only got 10 minutes in there as the staff got us out as they needed to go to another client and wanted their tip before they dissapeared, I wasn't to impressed with that, as we felt rushed. Also, The Spa, advertises no kids, but there were kids in there, screaming and running about, it wasn't very relaxing.
We didnt watch any of the evening entertainment, but the area is very large and you will always get a seat if you do want to watch it. I loved that the bar by the beach, the wooden ship one, is open of a night so if you want to sit outside, or inside, away from the stage and show, you can, the furniture is really comfy there, sadly we didnt get to sit outside at night as it was too windy and a bit chilly at night, but inside was lovely and cosy.
The water park is huge and looks great, we ran out of time so didnt get to use it sadly. The VR room is amazing!
I never go back to the same hotel twice, but would definitely return here. I highly recommend it."
