"We stayed at the Copenhagen Marriott Hotel as a family with two young children and overall had a very enjoyable stay. Accessing the hotel is simple and convenient, being slightly outside the true centre of Copenhagen and around a 10-minute walk from the central station. This makes getting to and from the airport and travelling elsewhere in Denmark very easy.
Check-in was efficient and welcoming, and despite arriving before the standard check-in time, our room was ready early. When travelling with young children, this is a huge bonus and very much appreciated.
Our room was large and located on the corner of the building, giving dual-aspect views over the water and towards the historic old town. It had been set up exactly as requested, with a separate bed for one of the children, along with a small U-shaped seating area, making it a very comfortable and practical family room.
As Marriott Platinum Elite members, we had access to the Executive Lounge and took breakfast there throughout our stay. Breakfast was good, with a wide selection of pastries and cereals, along with a small hot selection. While the quality was good, a slightly wider range of hot items would have been welcome. Due to the size of the hotel and the number of guests with lounge access, the Executive Lounge did become very busy at peak times, particularly around breakfast and during the evening service between 5:30 pm and 7 pm. The food display area could feel quite crowded during these periods.
The hotel is around a 20–25 minute walk (longer with children) from the Nyhavn waterfront district and the main tourist areas, although the city centre itself is closer than this. The area immediately around the hotel is noticeably quieter and, particularly in winter with dark, cold evenings, can feel a little isolated, being between the water and a main road. However, for Tivoli Gardens and access to the central station, the location is excellent.
Overall, we very much enjoyed our stay and have very few complaints regarding the room or service, both of which were of a high standard. The location suited our needs well, especially for Tivoli and rail connections, although travellers prioritising proximity to restaurants, bars, and nightlife may prefer to stay slightly closer to the central area between Gammel Strand and Nyhavn. The hotel was priced towards the upper end compared to other options during our visit, and while we remained loyal to the brand on this occasion, value would certainly be a factor in future stays."
