"This past October, my wife and I were vacationing in Southern Croatia for 10 days. We were scheduled to fly out of Split at 6:30am so I needed to book a hotel that was close to airport. Besides proximity, we also valued comfort. On a paper, Hotel Pasike checked all the boxes for the one night. Here's what we experienced.
The good:
The person who checked us in was extremely helpful and nice. Although he was also working the kitchen the in-house restaurant at the time, he dropped everything to help us check in. The room was spacious. The bed was comfortable. And even tough we were on the first floor (actually it's the second floor), the room was very quiet. Yay!
The not so good:
Being an heritage building, the room was lacking in electrical outlets. Only one side of the bed an outlet. Also, to get to reception, we had to walk through the restaurant. Turns out, there was a way to get to reception without having to roll your suitcases through an active kitchen, but we were not made aware of that option. While not terrible, it was very awkward. Lastly, while we expected the bathroom to be small, we did not expect this. The (very) modern showerhead had a major leak that shot water not only downward, but also simultaneously upwards. Not talking about a feature, this was clear leak in the plumbing — splashing off the ceiling and getting pretty much everything in the bathroom wet. I can't imagine how housecleaning could miss this when cleaning the bathroom. It's almost comical .
All in all, the hotel is truly historic, clean, quiet and in a great location. We enjoyed our 8 hours there — in spite of my last pair of underwear getting soaked just before heading to the airport. ;- ("
