"This is the second time we stayed at the Ambassador Hotel in Vienna but this time we stayed for 6 nights. We booked the Business Double room. The hotel is conveniently located at the Neuer Markt which is a great central location with walking distance to most of our favorite places. Our room was located on the first floor of the hotel which unfortunately requires you to take several 3-step stairs after coming out of the elevator which we didn't like and did not experience during our first stay there. We tried to switch the room but there was none left in our category as the hotel was fully booked. The room is spacious with bedroom and a separate living room with large windows and even a balcony although there were no seating arrangements on the balcony. It has a nice spacious 2-sink bathroom with a bathtub doubling as shower. Toilet seat is non-hydraulic so you have to be careful when closing it as we are used to hydraulic ones.
It is important to remark that the furniture is really old. There is a TV on the wall between two closets which looks awful as it has no TV unit underneath and you can see the cables coming down the wall from the TV to the electric outlet. In addition, this appears to be a quite old TV as the picture quality is poor and they only supply basic channels. No smart TV, no Netflix, no movies to purchase, etc. For the prices the hotel charges per night, this appears to be somewhat cheap. We ordered breakfast room service twice and the bread was not the best either considering that Austria has otherwise delicious breads. We also noticed during the last few days that the cleaning of the room was not up to par as we found dust on the nightstands and on the floor. In summary, we did not think that the price/value ratio was good. On the positive side, the hotel staff was friendly and accommodating."
