"January 2026, a weeks winter sun break in this friendly smaller hotel around 25 minutes walk or a 6 euro taxi ride to Corralejo. You can walk to the sea/beach in about 6 minutes cutting through the houses. The famous sand dunes are about 1 hour walk away by road or marked trail through the National Parque. You could also walk into town to the bus stop (6 mins) next to the supermarket complex and get the No 6 bus (3 euro) to Rosario but get off at the large RUI Olivia park hotel for the dunes. (There is not much to do in Rosario, the port, shopping malls and sculpture trail.) Staff at the hotel are all smiley and smartly uniformed, very helpful particularly Elena and Miri on reception. There are an army of cleaners washing everything down all day, never been to such a clean hotel. No litter and few flies at this time of year. Recently changed to Adults only but there is a baby pool and 2 pools, one heated 24 degrees, of varying depths each from 1.40 m to 1.80+ metres so deep. The pool bar is not always attended , again it is low season but they are missing a trick not circling the sunbeds for orders as there would have been takers, even for coffee as there is no coffee lounge. There are sofas in reception, a cash machine, guest library but no coffee machine. Drinks in general are cheap 2e for small beer or 4e large. Cocktails 6e, soft drinks 2/3e. Supermarket food is cheaper than UK except milk! Water is 5lt for 1.75e. The rooms are large, spotless, with sofa and huge bed with a firm mattress, a bit too firm for me but husband no problem. Hot strong modern shower and decent hairdryer, no iron , large balcony. The restaurant is well run, each night themed. The Mexican and Arabian evenings were fabulous. Sometimes food could be warmer but there is a microwave if you want it. We thought there was a good 8/9 main meal choices each night and multiple salad options. Soups good too. Desserts mixed review but always 3/4 ice cream flavours, cheese and biscuits and fruit as well. Each night there is also a free small 'tot' of alcohol relevant to the theme as you walk in. For example it was a 'whiskey sour' on American night. Meal drinks bill is paid as you leave and unfinished drinks can be transferred to a plastic cup to take out. There are 2 beautiful cats that seem to be everywhere at once, very friendly. The evening entertainment was mixed. Three nights of good singers- Two Of A Kind, Gloria and Friends and Disco Queens. The small stage did not do them justice really. It is just painted black and drab it needs curtains, lights and sparkle! They deserve better than a backdrop of a UTube fireplace too. Football was shown every night, 3 different matches on 3 tellys at once but this might be different in high season. Shows start at 9.30pm, quite late for us oldies, goes on till about 11pm. Stefano and Martin were the Animation team and entertained before and after the shows. Some games around the pool but not always enough volunteers for it to happen every day, again low season. On the whole a small, quiet, friendly hotel with great staff.
NEGATIVES
There is a so called 'courtesy' room to book if you have a late flight. Be aware that this is no more than a small benched room in the cleaners corridor. The door looks like a beat up store room. It literally is 2 old fashioned open shower bays with plastic curtains and a toilet with no door. Hand washing but no hairdryer, totally unacceptable for a 4* hotel. After speaking to reception we were allowed a spare guest room for 1 hour as is the usual practise in all other hotels everywhere. I hope this will become the new Standard as this option really let the hotel down.
The other negative was due to the practice of TUI customers being dropped off at the Bluesea/Aloe club hotel on the main road and made to make your own way to the Arena suites. This is 230metres or 430metres depending which way the driver sends you, left or right. Not acceptable to be dragging luggage with no idea where you are going at 10.30pm. Other companies drop door to door with the big coaches, Jet 2 for example. Pick up is also from the main road so is something to be aware of if you are not very mobile. Hopefully this policy might change after the complaints to TUI.
Met some nice people and many returning guests which says a lot."
