"I was aware it would be a small room with no view, it was for one night for a last minute trip with my daughter so was fine. I picked due to location and reviews , cleanliness being a big one. The room was ok a few scuffs on the walls and floors, seals around shower need a bit of TLC but definitely nothing to complain about ,all communal areas looked spotless.
We got to bed late , pulled back the covers and there was a big yellow mark on the sheet, the sheet was creased and worn as if it had not been changed and there were a few hairs. By this time it was 12.30am , i didn't want to stress my OCD daughter out so made an decision to sleep on the duvet rather than under the covers - 100% my choice not to call reception to give an opportunity to rectify. At check out i very nicely mentioned the lack of cleanliness to the receptionist , just as an FYI but i was told it was impossible , that i was wrong and the sheets could not possibly be dirty. She told me if this was the case i would have complained as 24 hour reception, i said made a decision not to do this and raised it only at check out incase it was an issue with their room service team but she basically called me a liar, that the issue was with me. What i wanted was an apology, thank you for letting us know kind of response but what i received was a total lack of customer service , speaking over me and interrupting me. I believe she should have acknowledged my complaint and when i asked her to and said i had not even received an apology , she rolled her eyes and practically spat it out at me. I work in events so have the opportunity to stay in some great hotels and have been lucky enough to receive great hospitality and customer service, this was not one of those times"
