"Fantastic hotel situated in the heart of the city that it is both well located and quiet at the same time. The hotel is about a 6/7 min walk to the main bus and train station, so this means that when you arrive at the airport you can get the airport shuttle bus to the city centre and the walk to the hotel is really close and easy. The airport bus runs about every half an hour from and to the airport and is 4 euros each, which is a lot cheaper than the 60 euros for a taxi ride. The bus ride is about 30 mins long.
On arrival at the hotel we were checked in immediately and our room was ready for us (10.00am) so very grateful for the early check in, the staff were super efficient and professional at all times. Our room was a premium room for 3 adults and it was fab. It was immaculately clean, lovely big comfy beds, iron and ironing board, safe, coffee and tea facilities - everything you need for a comfortable stay. The bathroom was gorgeous, separate shower and toilet in their own cubicles, there was also a bath and really useful large sink area, the hotel provides, hand wash, shower gel , shampoo, body lotion, tissues, earbuds, hairdryer - everything you could need. We loved the luxury feel of the room and it was cleaned impeccably every day. It was so quiet, we all slept really well in the comfy beds.
The hotel has a gym and pool, the gym is really well equipped with loads of fitness machines etc - it is open from 6.30am. There is also a rooftop restaurant and bar which has lovely views, but we didn't eat here. The hotel does have a breakfast area - but we didn't use it as it was pricey at 29 euros each per day, but there is a gorgeous bakery literally across the road from the hotel that did fab pasties and breakfast food - so we ate there instead. There is also a supermarket right next to the hotel which was really handy if you need to get any essentials/snacks etc.
The hotel is located in the centre and is about a 8/10 min walk to the main area where all of the shops and restaurants are, it is a nice walk and easy to get to main part of town where the bridges and castle are situated. We visited at Xmas time and there were loads of lights and the Christmas market were lovely and there was a great atmosphere, busy but not too packed out ! I recommend the pizzeria Foculus for a great meal that is excellent value.
Of course we visited Lake Bled whilst we stayed in Slovenia, and what an absolute beauty she is. We got the bus from the station, about 6 euros each and a 1 hour journey through the lovely countryside. The lake is stunning and you can easily walk around it in about an hour (but you will be constantly stopping to take breath taking photos !) There are plenty of cafes around the lake to have some food and coffee etc - it truly is a lovely place, we were so lucky that the sun shone all day.
We also visited Trieste in Italy and again this was really easy, bus from the station - about 1 hour 30mins, don't forget to take your passports as they check them at the border, and next thing you know you are in Italy having pasta for lunch. It is an interesting city and well worth the effort from Ljubljana.
All in all we had a lovely stay in Slovenia and would absolutely recommend this fabulous hotel as an excellent base to explore this beautiful country."
