"We visited this hostel in Krakow on 4th July 2025 for 2 nights.
The hostel is in a convenient location in the city centre, and it’s not too hard to locate. Firstly, although not an issue for us, there is no lift, luckily we don’t require the use of one - there was a lot of steps to get to our floor, not ideal with carrying luggage.
Upon entering our room, the only good comments I can think of was that there’s a kitchen which is useful and it’s fairly spacious. However, there were numerous issues, too many to remember all. Issues that stood out to me the most include:
- Plug sockets either not working or hanging/ not in the walls safely
- Light switches wobbly and surrounded with dirt from previous guests hands
- Holes in walls, wall paper bubbling/ peeling off
-Doors / door handles completely broken or hanging off. Paint jobs on doors are atrocious, stains and dirt, wood is chipped also.
- Holes on doors filled with sweet wrappers for privacy, not done properly.
- Bathroom shower tiles have mould, mould is noticeable near the shower’s door and tray
-Shower head not installed properly: the head is meant to be facing downwards so you can stand underneath it, however it’s almost sideways 90 degrees so it’s awkward to shower properly
-Flickering light in the bathroom, not sufficiently lit
-The shower’s extractor fan was full of thick, black mould
-Bugs crawling along the bathroom floor - some kind of beetle, numerous
-TV was tiny for the size of the room, can barely see the screen from how far away the bed was. The plug wasn’t long enough to reach the socket to turn it on to begin with. Luckily, there was an extension cable hidden in the (filthy) wardrobe which allowed us to use the TV
-Oven in the room was covered in dirt from previous guests
-Freezer was full of a spilled, pink frozen liquid of some kind, from the previous guests. Hadn’t been cleaned or checked clearly
-Behind the beds was a lot of dust and general dirt
-Window edges black, dirty and needs repainting
If you think you’ll get a good night’s sleep, think again. The noise from the street is atrocious, sirens, people screaming even with the windows shut - terrible noise resistance.
Overall the hostel is very expensive and a waste of money. You can stay somewhere else for a much better price and better overall experience with nicer facilities which actually get cleaned. I’ve never stayed somewhere so dirty in my years of travelling. Stay somewhere else! AVOID."
