"I gave two stars as that's the average of the score for the hotel (4) and the restaurant(0). The hotel is quite good as our room was very spacious and comfortable - although the design of the interiors was not great - and the hotel has a swimming pool and a beach. But the restaurant is unbelievably bad. We have been in at least a hundred restaurants in Greece and this was by far the worst - I'd say 5 times worse than the next one down the ladder. I can't understand why they just don't shut down that awful eatery: outside the hotel there a few tavernas which I am sure can provide a much better service for a fraction of what the hotel charges for their so-called 'all-inclusive' option. Which, by the way, is a total scam as when the restaurant is closed you can only have industrial ice-creams or similar, and when the restaurant is open you'd better stay far from it."

"The resort looks nice but difinitely not 4star level. Rooms were OK, garden beautiful. We bought all inclusive programme and were left first 10 hours without any access to meals or drinks. The weakest point was the food, that was very limited choice, little vegetables or fruit, sometimes not enough to feed all the guests. The food was delivered from outside, re-heated only. The beach was not definitely a Blue Flag holder! For most of the drawbacks I blame the travel agency, the staff tried to be helpful."

"Das Schönste an Kalo Nero ist das große Zimmer für meine Familie mit direktem Meerblick über den Pool und wunscherschönen Sonnenuntergänge täglich! Das Frühstück ist "essbar". "All inklusive" würde ich NIE nehmen, da das Hotel alles anliefern lässt. Die Sauberkeit im Zimmer kann sich täglich, abhängig von der Putzfrau, ändern. Der Boden wird nie gereinigt. Der Pool ist ganz nett, jedoch ist nicht klar, wer aller diesen Pool benützt. Der Strand ist Sand-Kies mit vielen Steinen beim Ins-Wasser-Gehen. Das Meer war von 14 Tagen an 8 NICHT "klar und azurblau", sondern trüb und nicht zum Schnorcheln! Im Ort gibt es drei Restaurants und zwei Mini Märkte. Einöde pur. Endeffekt: einmal und nie wieder! The best in Kalo Nero is the big appartement of Messina Resort with direct view to the sea and the sunsets. The pool is nice but you don't know who really uses it. Breakfast is just "eatable" if you're hungry. Don't take all-inclusive it's catering! The clearness of the room depends on the IQ of the cleaning woman. The floor will never be cleaned within 2 weeks. The hotel is seemingly not really being cared the way we know it from all over the world. The beach is sandy-rocky and you need to be very careful by going into the water. The sea is not reliable because the water is often dizzy and not clear. I had 6 days of snorkeling within 2 weeks. Kalo Nero has only three restaurants and two mini-markets just a wasteland. You could like solitude but that's like being on the moon! Renting a car and going around is really fascinating because of the famous ancient background of the Peloponnese. Kyparissia nearby is not worth being visited. The next Greek town which attracts tourists is Nafplio far away. So for Kalo Nero: one time but never ever again!"
