"Our first trip to Crete and due a late flight decided to book this apartment as it is less than 30 mins drive from the airpor, right next to the beach and has a pool. The place was easy to find and the owner was nice enough to stay outside the normal opening times for the reception. Sadly the apartment we were assigned was not upto the standard pictured in any of the photos shown on the booking site. It was ground floor of the annex building rather than the main building which I assume has been decorated more recently than where we were situated. The room had a very worn out feel with wooden cabinets and shelving in the main room and kitchen area. There was no microwave provided just a hotplate. The bathroom had a sink area and then a subroom where the toilet was located and in the subroom was also the shower faucet on the wall which was very poorly located and due to no curtain or door to this subroom meant it was hard to wash and stop water from soaking the floor in the sink area. Yes I've been to Greece before and know they have different styles of bathrooms to the UK but this was just unusable in the way they had just stuck both the toilet and shower in the same tiny space. The room had air conditioning which had a daily charge for using which I understood is a way for the owners to recoop costs but this apartment had no widows that were able to be opened so the only way you could have any airflow would be to have the front and back doors open which is not idea for security when your sleeping and based on the ground floor less than 10 seconds from the beach. The place has a great size pool and always has empty sun loungers so no worries about finding one any time of the day. The beach as mentioned was 10 seconds walk from the back door and even though it was stoney was nice to be able to get to in such a short distance for going in the sea. With a little bit of effort to bring this apartment up to scratch this would be a great place to stay in."
