Sofitel Luxor Winter Palace

"After a 2 year gap I returned to the hotel, accompanied by friends who finally gave in, after 37 years of mithering, and decided to accompany me to Egypt and Luxor, in particular. I wanted to ensure they experienced both the Winter Palace and the Winter Pavilion (so they had another option should they choose to return, in future), but as the travel date approached I grew worried that I might have over-hyped the hotel, and that they might not see it as living up to the expectations I'd created. I need not have worried. From the moment of our arrival, in the wee small hours of the morning, to our checking-out and moving to the Pavilion 3 nights later, everything went beyond what I could have hoped for. They loved the old world ambiance of the hotel, were blown away by staying in a hotel that is itself classed as a historic monument, adored the calm of the gardens and the atmosphere of the Royal Bar; not to mention the joys of breakfast, with the omelette chef being a particular favourite. But the thing that struck them most of all was the attentiveness of the staff, who went out of their way to make you feel like the mot important guest to ever stay at the hotel, and to ensure your stay was both perfect and memorable. The impression made was such that they have already mentioned that they want to return. So sincere thanks to all, who made such a warm and lasting impression."
