Royal Azur Hotel Thalassa

"We are well travelled and holiday on 6-8 times a year. This Hotel is lovely and very well located. Nice pools, beach bar and rooms ( we had a sea view, 2 room suite which I highly recommend). The food is OK but could be better however, the Al a carte Italian restaurant food is superb. The majority of the staff from the Front desk, customer relations and concierge to the bar staff, waiters, chefs and cleaners are great, friendly and helpful however, the reason for 3 stars on this review is that a good few of the staff we came across were out and out haters of the British. On 2 occasions we have been so deliberately spoken to with disdain, rudeness or aggression or ignored in favour of serving French customers, with such gravity that we felt the need to raise the issue with management. There were a few other times we let go without confronting but the hatred for the British from the few has not been in anyway disguised. I had one short, angry little man chef at the snack bar in the sister hotel next door, refused to serve me in favour of a French guest and then get aggressive, with gritted teeth, toward me insisting I speak Arabic or French. What has been a fabulous five days break away in glorious November sunshine in a lovely suite and hotel has been a little tarnished by the few with their disdain of British people. I would return to this hotel but try hard to avoid the rude and aggressive staff. Our cleaner Sophia, the pool boy and a few of the restaurant staff are superb..they have been tipped generously and will be again before we leave. A great hotel let down by the few."

"I would like to thank zainab, guest relations who was excellent in resolving any issues we had. The lovely gentleman who checked us in so promptly was always so efficient, welcoming and always smiled by the name of Aziz. The amazing Mohadein who made sure we were looked after whilst around pool, always trying to make sure we had enough drinks and food. The young waiter by the name of Aziz, who made our evening dinner so spectacular. When I say they are so caring and want the best for you , they really do. Summayyah at the spa facility who gave us the wonderful hammam , made us feel so comfortable and we couldn’t stop laughing. Great food, great location and great hotel ."

"What an absolutely fabulous holiday. From start to finish the hotel’s location, hotel, spa, the food and the people were outstanding. We were made to feel so welcome. The location is beautiful with sandy beaches. The hotel has a wonderful spa- well worth a visit. The restaurant serves very varied and beautiful food. The seafood night was a real treat. The rooms are immaculate and the housekeeping staff are efficient and hard working. Thank you to the whole housekeeping staff with special thanks to Anissa. We would like to particularly like to thank, Wissem, Wissem and Wajdi in the bar. Arbi in the restaurant. A final huge thanks to Zaynab the Guest relations Manager who is so professional and dedicated to enabling guests to have the very best experience. Thank you all. We will be back."
