"This hotel looked lovely on the photos. It's ok but that's about it really. It's not a 4* hotel by a long shot , 3 at a push.
On arrival we were told we were upgraded to a sea view room. ( we had actually booked a sea view room anyway) The room ( 205) was central to the hotel. It was clean & comfortable and a nice view. There is only one plug point in the hotel rooms so take an extension lead if you want to charge a phone and have a brew at the same time. Bathroom was ok, strange and basic wall mounted hairdryer hose which I didn't try and use, no points for an electric shaver. Towels ok a little threadbare but useable. A wall mounted soap dispenser in shower and sink, no tissues or extras and no shampoo/conditioner dispensers. Now, reception, here's where all it goes downhill. We upgraded from half board to AI, and paid accordingly. Before we went on this holiday I checked with the hotel and gave the evidence, that wee would be good to join in the New Years Eve Celebrations & dinner ti which they replied yes it is all included if you are both Half Board or AI. So either way we're included. Then the hotel decided that we weren't allowed to use the restaurant on NYE and unable to join the gala dinner unless we paid extra, I showed him the email from them but that still wasn't enough evidence. We didn't two days speaking to our travel agency and in the end the hotel decided we were then allowed to join in the celebrations. My phone was taken off me by a man at reception which I wasn't happy about but they still didn't believe the email they sent me was from them. It was all rather stressful and being made to feel like I was lying it just not acceptable. The men at reception in this hotel are rude, and dismissive especially to women. Now we get to the "attached" Spa, I booked a 2.5 hour spa to include steam, scrub, seaweed, salt jacuzzi, massage, swim, manicure. It was ok and that's about all I can say on this, I did have to ask for my bikini top to be returned to be a few times, it would really help if they could communicate clearly too. The girls were nice in there, the whole spa could do with a revamp and a decorate as the paint is literally falling off the walls in it. Food - the buffet is ok, there's alot of choice. The special restaurant is very good, a different menu each night but you do need to book it by midday which is fine. The private beach to the hotel is very tiny so no idea what they do in the height of summer with more guests. Pool area is clean outside, and nicely maintained. The inside pool area could go with a good revamp.
Reception don't really give you much idea on what's on but there is a board by the lifts that gets updated mid morning, The best night we had was in "the pub" underneath the hotel, where lots of people had a great time singing and socialising, mainly the brits to be fair but we do know how to make the most if an otherwise dull entertainment evening. The staff in the buffet were mostly good. Everything here is based on tips, drivers, concierge, waiters the lot. Whilst I give a good tip I only give it when it's deserved and you've had a great experience. This hotels isn't a great experience and to be quite honest I was glad to be getting back to the UK, even if it was snowing, I'm not quite sure where the golf club was but if it's in the name of the hotel it should probably attached or advertised? Or at least tell us where it is. I have never been made to feel more uncomfortable by hotel staff in all my times of travel than at this hotel. The saving grace of this hotel was the bed was clean and comfortable and the shower was good otherwise I would have moved hotel immediately."
