"We booked this hotel for a post Christmas mini break, spending 3 nights here on a b&b basis. We have never been to Majorca before but knew it was a popular island. Being the Christmas and New Year holidays, we took the assumption that there would be things open such as restaurants or entertainment, however we were wrong.
We had a good flight and no delay at Palma airport getting through. We took the A1 airport link bus for 5€ into Palma city and grabbed some food before taking the 2€ A4 bus to the hotel. It is around 40 minutes bus journey and on arrival, the area does appear remote. However for peace and tranquilty and if you purely wanted to stay within the hotel then this would be idea. We saw a number of people on golfing breaks staying here.
The bus stop is outside the hotel and we arrived early. We were greeted warmly and our room was available early too which was nice. The lobby area is warm and inviting with complementary waters and comfy seating.
However what we noticed was a distinct lack of atmosphere . There was literally nothing going on at the hotel except for a private birthday party. The website indicated evening entertainment but there was nothing. Given the season we thought there would be some live music or singing that we could relax by the bar and listen to, but nothing. It was dead!
The hotel is adult only which is nice but was so lacking in vibe and atmosphere.
Being a treat, we had a room with a sea view and jacuzzi on an outside private terrace. However in hindsight, it was not worth the upgrade as,
1. The hotel spa has a much larger and more powerful jacuzzi to use
2. The room jacuzzi was very small and the jet power was low.
Simply not worth the extra.
The room itself is a good size with a nice shower and plenty of shampoo and shower gel. There are also toothpaste and razor sets along with a Krups coffee maker ( kettle for tea options would be good also for the room)
It has an in room safe, flat screen TV and minibar. Regarding the mini bar, we didn't use it, however we have been charged for a drink which we didn't have so check your check out bill. We have stayed in hotels in the past where items like a chocolate bar, crisps or biscuits are complementary, next to the coffee maker or kettle. Our room had a small tub of Pringles next to the coffee maker. We took the assumption it was complementary as it was not part of the mini bar but was charged €4 . Please don't make the same mistake!
The bathroom sink plug was too big for the sink hole and we didn't like the fact that you have no internal security on the room door. No chain or internal lock. We were having a nap after having an early morning flight shortly after checking in when a housemaid came in before quickly exiting again. Yesterday we were getting dressed and housekeeping again came in. Not ideal.
The bed however was very comfortable and it was nice to have the patio doors open a little as you can hear the sea at night. We had good nights sleep.
The hotel has an outdoor pool which was closed and an outdoor spa pool. Some steps lead down to a small cove where you could have a swim in the crystal clear sea. That would be lovely in the summer.
The hotel does have a very nice indoor salt water pool and jacuzzi with water fountains. There is also a steam room and dry sauna. The pool is tight and no more than 2 people could swim at any one time in a 1 meter average depth pool.
Our room provided us with robes and slippers but there are lockers and changing areas.
Our breakfast was in our room rate. The walk in rate was €25 which was expensive in my opinion. There are plenty of meats, cheeses and fruits, bread and pastries. Hot food was more cooked on a ad request basis, not a buffet style as such where you can help yourself. The orange juice container kept running out also. Breakfast was ok but could have offered more choice in both cereals and hot food. The milk containers could have been colder too. The coffee was via a self serve machine. However the staff were friendly with clean tables and both indoor and outdoor seating.
The evening buffet we skipped as we could not justify the €34 charge.
Would I choose this hotel again? There is nothing wrong with it, however it is remote, there is literally no atmosphere with nothing happening. What made it worse was that there was hardly any bars or other restaurants open in the vacinity, trapping you to use the hotel restaurant.
We did as a result of this use the bar . The drink prices are steep (€14 for a cocktail). The food was mixed. The chicken club sandwich was nice but my wifes burger was undercooked in places. Another night we had nachos which were very oily but the guacamole was good. The caesar salad good also.
If you want to stay and chill at the hotel and not leave then this maybe for you. Off season however we found it too remote."
