"Had a really good holiday at the Montecarlo. The hotel is kept spotlessly clean with extremely efficient, friendly and helpful staff. Nothing is too much trouble for the hotel's staff. The food on offer is very varied and of excellent quality, especially for someone like myself who suffers from a severe garlic and onion allergy. The head chef went above and beyond to make sure that I could make informed choices on food options to keep me safe; he would cook a garlic/onion free option for me if non were available on the day. The reason I have rated the hotel good rather than excellent is solely down to the swimming pool. This is unsuitable for anyone that is not a strong swimmer or confident in the water. The pool has no real shallow end. I regard myself as a strong swimmer, so not a real problem for myself. However, the pool becomes very deep as soon as you have entered the water via the steps. I'm 5'10" tall and the water was up to my neck after a couple of steps. For non and novice swimmers, the Can Picafort beach is a much better alternative, where one can paddle or walk quite a way out without being out of ones depth or comfort zone."
