Ilunion Costa Sal Lanzarote

"Just back from an 8 night stay at Ilunion Costa Sal. Had a great week there. Very relaxing which was definitely needed. Good size room, with separate bedroom and pop up bed for my son, kitchen had all essential items as we went self catering. Onsite supermarket was very handy. We didn't eat at the hotel except for breakfast on our first morning, the meals are quite pricey, but not an issue due to location for local cafes and restaurants which were only a 5-10 mins walk away. Lovely pool area, we had no problems getting sunbeds, even with it being half term. Pool bar didn't open till a little later in the day, but you can buy drinks from main bar area. The hotel is about a 5 mins walk to beach and shopping centre. We've already booked to go back next year."

"We have just returned from a short 5 day holiday in Lanzerote and we stayed in Ilunion hotel. We were very pleased with the stay. We arrived at 10 am. The check in was at 4pm however the lovely reception staff has made us welcomed straight away. We left our luggage in the storage and were able to use the pool straight away.We staied in a 2 bedroom apartment on the 1 st floor overlooking pool and the ocean !! The rooms are being cleaned regularly, however we requested for no room service due to short stay and we prefer not to be disturbed by cleaners. Very comfortable beds and stunning views ! Pool area was very clean and plesant. Nice lit footpaths and plenty of lovely plants around the resort. There are many side gates which can be used as a short cut to the beach and shops. I note few coments in regards to the entertainment in the hotel, and i an confirm that there is not much if any entertainment , however this is personal preference. We were looking for a place with no pool area entertainment ect… and we loved this hotel as it was lovely and peaceful. If you fancy entertainment there are few other much larger hotels nearby which can provide this. We had B&B option and loved the breakfast. Dinner options were not great so we cooked our own food and went out on one night. Restaurant staff very friendly and extemely hard working. I would also like to mention one particular member of staff Crostina who was always smiling despite being very busy . She looked after guests and always wend an extra mile. We will be back again soon."

"Just back from a 7-day break. I have been coming to the Costa Sal for nearly 20 years. A lot of things have changed since it was taken over by Ilunion Hotels and prices have increased drastically for accommodation. The grounds are kept immaculate but the accommodation needs an upgrade, we were lucky enough to get one of the newly adapted apartments up by the pool and it was fantastic. 65-inch TV, walk-in wet room, curtains that open and close by pushing a button, and plenty of storage for 3 people. There are 6 of these apartments and I heard that there a no more plans to update any more of them. This is disappointing to say the least as it was just pot potluck to get one of these apartments. For what they are charging they need to upgrade all accommodation. We had breakfast every morning which had plenty of choices. The restaurant is a let-down in the evenings with just a buffet. They have to be losing money big time as it is empty most nights. Years ago you had to book a table for food and struggled to get a seat at the bar. Overall our stay was brilliant and the staff are fabulous but ILUNION need to up their game, ok they want visitors from all over and not just 'Irish' as they put in a previous reply on a review. Don't try and fix something that is not broken. Get rid of the buffet evening meals and put in a proper restaurant with a nice menu to cater for everyone and a bit of family entertainment wouldn't go a miss."
