"We had an apartment, which was spacious, with adequate wardrobe space (only 10 hangers per apartment), TV with BBC1, BBC2 and ITV, corner sofa, The Kitchen had a large fridge, smaller freezer, sufficient pots, pans, cutlery, crockery etc. while the crockery looks like it’s matching the glass are all different sizes and the plates are also different sizes. The microwave was also a grill and combi oven, and there was a 2 ring hob, there was also a kettle, coffee machine and toaster and a breakfast bar with 3 stools.
The terrace was spacious; big enough to sit out there, with 2 chairs and a round table. However the walls are marked in need of a complete repainting, there was a large chunk missing from the counter top in the kitchen directly under the sink and the leg of the breakfast bar was completely rusted. The light switches colour is wearing off and the plug socket in the kitchen area comes out of the wall when you try to unplug items. The apartment overall was roomy, comfortable and spotlessly clean, it is just tired and in need of TLC. There is no aircon but an oscillating free standing fan was provided.
Quiet location but central to all areas. 10 mins walk to beach (but lots of steps to contend with) 10 mins walk to Yumbo centre. Beds were very comfortable and the shower was ok, not a power shower but adequate. WiFi is available in the room so you can save on your data. There is a safe but it costs €2 per day. With a £10 deposit. If you have a late flight it is possible to get a late check out, you need to check the day beforehand and it is €30 and gives you a room if available up until 19:00 hrs.
There is a rooftop sun terrace with double beds as well as regular sunbeds, there are also two showers and toilets on the rooftop terace. You can use the spa / gym / sauna. The poolside was quiet, there was no music, or a poolside bar for drinks or snacks. Perfect for relaxing and unwinding not so much if you are feeling a tad peckish. If you’re hungry at lunch time or on your way home from a night out and are craving pizza, the hotel next door has a pizza vending machine next door to the apartment block. It was €14 for a stone baked pizza which others have stated was lovely.
We had breakfast day 1 in their cafe/restaurant, which was €11 each if not included in your stay. It was buffet style, and had most things you’d expect for a breakfast buffet. There is a selection of meat, cheeses, fruit, juices, yoghurt and pastries. There is also a hot breakfast area which includes bacon, sausages, eggs (fried & hard boiled), tomatoes, beans, pancakes and cheese & Ham “toasties”. We went the first morning but not again for two reasons. I’m Gluten intolerant and there was nothing apart from the cheese and cold meat on the cold buffet that I could have. The cooked breakfast that morning was completely overcooked, the bacon was so over cooked it was dark brown and rock hard and my husbands fried egg was brown and crispy around the edges. The fried tomato slice was shrivelled up and almost a dehydrated tomato slice crisp. I can’t recommend the breakfast, I may be wrong about the “Sin Gluten” but there was no signage in relation to Sin Gluten nor was there a different section. I have nothing good to say about the breakfast, it’s overpriced and lacking quality on the hot buffet. We discovered a few days later that they start cooking the bacon at 06:30 hrs in the morning but breakfast isn’t served until 08:30 hrs, no wonder it was all overcooked.
There is a Spa and treatments that can be booked, they do advise that you need to book the day before, however when I went to book a massage for the morning of our last day the only slots they had were afternoon, I tried booking 3 days in advance. There was no other times available, there is a really good massage and beauty parlour in the shopping centre on the beach front which welcomes walk-ins, I have been going there for 9 years so it was back to there again, just thought the convenience of using in-house would be easier, but it wasn't.
I would like to say the staff were friendly, reception is open from 07:00-23:00 hrs outside of those hours there are two telephone numbers to call if needed, there were often times we went to reception to buy water and it was locked, I always got the feeling you were entering their space and you were an inconvenience to them. Disadvantage of not having a night manager is when the fire alarm went off and the security officer had to come to reset it as there was a fault, there was nobody to communicate with the guests, lucky we grab our phones and were able to use google translate to figure out it was a fault and able to return to our apartment. While the fire alarm went off twice in the night/early morning it didn’t happen again.
When I went to reception to request a late check out, I was told I couldn’t due to Winter Pride which doesn’t start for another 3 weeks. As part of the LGBTQ+ community we check these things out before we travel, so that was complete and utter lies, if you are full just say so, don't lie about the reason.
I started working in hospitality at the age of 11 in different family business’ so would I stay here again:- no"
