Puente Romano Beach Resort & Spa

"The place is beautiful. It almost feels like being in the Maldives when you walk around in the greenery. Hotel is built as a spanish village with walkways and small "streets" lined with restaurants and bars. The Plaza feels like an actual "plaza" when you sit in the open air and have a drink or something to eat. The beach is nice, but with dark sand and some parts with stones. But the water is cristal clear. The Sea Grill restaurant where the breakfast (and lunch and dinner) are served is amazing and such a nice location just by the beach/ocean. The Breakfast had EVERYTHING you could ever ask for, I can't think of anything that was missing. there are sooo many berries, so much fruit, such good pancakes, live cooking station for all kinds of eggs you want. The bread is delicious and home made in the resort. The only thing that disappointed me was that the kids club is charged. and it is expensive."

"Such a high quality place. Our check in was rescued by Daniella Davis at Puente who rectified British Airways holidays error. Do note that BA will allow you to book the wrong room category but won't notify you. Daniella was incredible at fixing what was quite a potentially problematic issue - so big thanks and credit where it is due. A very healthy resort - incredible healthy breakfast, incredible gym facilities. I was hence disappointed to find cigarette ends by the swimming pools near Rachel's eco cafe. I do not understand why smoking is allowed by the pools, in the cafes and around the resort. It's very unpleasant for non-smokers and really brings down the quality of an otherwise incredible place. Ban smoking on resort totally and I think this could quite literally be called Paradise Found."

"This is a truly elegant and luxurious resort property with wonderful facilities, a plethora of dining choices, 3 pools, and a breakfast buffet that greatly exceeds any buffet that you can conceive of! [OK, I admit I don’t know the limits of your creativity. I’m pretty much going off my own buffet experiences as a former travel columnist along with my former career as a screenwriter — so, sure, I could conceive of a buffet in which the carving table is manned by trained tigers, and your coffee is delivered by singing tap dancing robots, but food-wise, this is top shelf.] Our exceptional experience began at the front desk where we were greeted by Daniella Davis and Lola (I did not her last name). She told us about the options at the resort, the breakfast buffet (did I mention the buffet?) and sundry amenities. Luis Miguel expertly handled our bags and whisked us to our room. As a walker (sadly, no longer a runner — knees and back, you know how it is) I was quite pleasantly surprised by the wide promenade that runs along the beach for 10-20km in both directions (east - west, I suppose. As for km, American reference I walked at least 5 mi in either direction with a lot more beach I could have walked along). The promenade is either compacted dirt or paved and covered in a minimal layer of fine sand — the result is a comfortable walking surface (knees and back, remember) that accesses several beach clubs and restaurants… but why dine anywhere outside of the Puente Romano? Before I get into the dining, I do want to acknowledge that integrated in the property there is an actual “puente romano” datong to the first century (BCE or CE, I cannot remember, but either way it is much older than any bridge I have encountered in the US). Dining: from pizza and hotdogs to Lebanese to omakase Japanese (and so much more) your choices seem inexhaustible. A word of caution: it’s expensive. So, I recommend using a card that will give you points for your favorite loyalty program or at minimum cash back. If you want luxury, this is a good spot."
