"Stayed for 10 days in December
Location was good - just 4 Euros from Elvri to Marbella for both of us, Costs around 20 euros via Uber. Ask Reception for the bus timetable has this helps or look on Google maps and add in 220 bus route - it tells you when they arrive and pretty accurate.
Atmosphere - Breakfast was busy. The dining room is very dated. Lots of children ( but is was holidays so expected) however no control over the children hands in the food. Should be monitored by staff. At times people were waiting for tables which made it uncomfortable. We tended to go for a 2 seat table and not sit on tables that were big enough for families ( which some did, I may add)
Rooms were very big. We arrived with no electricity and forever wondering where the lights and connection were. Eventually we rang reception whom the maintenance guy arrived ( who was fantastic) was so apologetic and said the storms must have impacted. All was sorted though. However didn't like the connecting door that was linked to the other apartment which the guests were very very noisy. No consideration for others. Had to watch the television in the bedroom as they were so noisy. Would suggest the hotel to consider this if not families next to each other.
Bathrooms were tired and the jacuzzi bath was very dirty and had to wash it out before I used it. Very grimy that bleach could have rectified. We were in the middle of the floor so never got very good views. One side the road and the other side was the pool with lots of trees.
Noise level - Other guests above us were doing all sorts with the furniture - like a herd of elephants every night until 2am and had no consideration for others. The movement of furniture on the marble floors were very off putting and not nice and were forever screeching - maybe rugs should be considered in the dining areas . every night. The movement of chairs around was very off putting. Guests were shouting all the time.
Service was good - however did not think the reception team knew what they were doing half the time. Gave us inaccurate information about the buses to destinations. Did not help with the service of the room.
One example was when the cleaners arrived to clean our suite at 5pm! which I turned them away as we had a long day out and my husband was asleep. I contacted reception directly to ask them to come next morning and they assured me this would be sorted that day. However they never turned up until three days later after asking a second time for the service ( 6 days after arriving). I also asked them to come in the morning whilst we were out. Again the reception team assured me. Arrived back at 4pm and the cleaner was in there. Fair enough but they did have all day and should have considered our request.
Also wasn't impressed that the gardener decided to use his leaf blower at 7am, in the morning when people were still sleeping. Not impressed with that. This happened a number of times on the holiday. It really was not worth doing based on the windy weather we were having! He was back to square one next day!
New Years Eve - quite costly but then again we are in Marbella! 160 euros per head.
Amenities - not much in terms of night shows. Very limited considering it was Christmas/new year. It seems you have to pay for the privilege of any entertainment Swimming pool not ideal for couples as lots of children.
Also was expecting a welcome pack when we arrived ( as per the hotel booking noting there would be one) - nothing. Would have been good especially as we had arrived at 11pm that night. Didn't feel like going to the shop so ,late at night after travelling 12 hours that day. Also would be ideal to have a shop for basic amenities on site - nothing and would have been ideal to just even getting a bottle of milk.
Trips - we went to Ronda ( amazing views), Fuengirola, Espetona ( very pretty) , Puerto Banus ( to see the supercars and ow the other half live) and Marbella old town ( beautiful)"
