"I visited Porto for 2 nights in September 2025 and enjoyed my stay at Oca Oriental. It is less than a 10 minute walk from the Porto Campanha train station so unless you have mobility issues there's no need to pay for transportation to get back and forth between the hotel and train. The hotel is about a 25-30 min walk away from the city center and all the major sites, but it is a flat mostly walk and easy to do. If you don't feel like walking, Uber is reasonably priced and there is also a metro stop right by the hotel. There are a several restaurants and cafes within 5-10 minutes of the hotel and several convenience stores nearby to grab snacks or necessities.
Now for the hotel itself: It is very nice, the room was a good size and very clean, and the front desk staff were helpful. I arrived 5 hours before the check in time and had no issues dropping my luggage off to explore without carrying all of my bags. My room rate included breakfast. The breakfast was a buffet and pretty standard when it comes to hotel food. There were a variety of fruits, pastries, sausage , bacon, eggs, yogurt and juices available. It was nothing to write home about but sufficed. Personally, I wouldn't pay extra for the breakfast buffet since the cafes nearby had better hot food at a lower price, but it's a great deal when it's included in your stay. My room also had a little balcony which was nice surprise. I could stand out there for fresh air without having to go downstairs.
The slight downside of the hotel:
1. In case I totally missed it, there's no luggage stand located in the room. As a result, used the desk chair when wanting to get into my luggage to avoid having to put my luggage on the bed.
2. The safe was located a very bottom cabinet in the room. I literally had to kneel on the floor when getting things in and out of the safe. It would have been nice to have it higher up.
3. It didn't bother me, but it is near a church so you can hear the church bells ringing all night. If you are a light sleeper that could potentially be an issue.
4. There was a complimentary jar of water located in the room but it was never refilled. It wasn't a huge deal because a store was less than 5 minutes away but it would have been nice to get a jar of water for both nights that I was there. With that said, I didn't ask for more, so maybe I could've gotten a refill if I made the request.
Despite the slight downsides, if I were to visit Porto in the future, I would definitely stay at this hotel again."
