Pelican Alvor

Pelican Alvor is a brilliant base if you’re looking for a peaceful retreat. It’s on the outskirts of Alvor, surrounded by gardens and close to the Ria de Alvor Nature Reserve. Despite the hotel’s tranquil location, you’re just a 10-minute walk from the restaurants and bars in the resort centre.

The hotel is all white on the outside and ultra-modern, with a spacious pool set among well-tended lawns, and neighboured by loungers and parasols. Children have their own paddling version, and when they’re not splashing around, they can get involved with storytelling, crafts and games at the hotel-run kids’ club (open between July and September, depending on occupancy). There’s more in the way of activities and entertainment organised for the whole family by the hotel team, which spans sports and quizzes, live music and shows.

For cocktails and cold drinks, there’s a waterside bar open throughout the day, and you can get tasty snacks in the lobby bar indoors. For the most important meal of the day, meanwhile, there's a buffet spread to tempt your taste buds.
