Butik Art Hotel

"We just stayed 2 nights in this hotel during our citytrip in Budapest. I really loved the location as it’s walking distance to literraly everywhere. We like to walk and you could easilly walk to the main tourist sites. There’s also subway or tram station nearby if you prefer. We are a family of 4 and bought a 24h group ticket- very easy to use and this way you can use the tram to do some sightseeing to. Our room was clean and nice. In the lobby you also get free (good) coffee, which is nice. I really loved breakfast and the way it was served. More than enough food is given. One and only downside was the airco which wasn’t working. It kept blowing hot air and we tried every possible switch. In the end we stopped using it and opened a window - which might be a problem in the summer as the sun really made it jot inside. All in all very good stay. Great location. Nice breakfast & friendly reception. Good value for money."

"Avoid if you wanna sleep! I left after 1 night. Paper thin walls & floor (the worst I have experienced in Hungary as a Hungarian), mold in the bathroom, window that you can’t close, worn down paint everywhere. It also attracts party people, so I enjoyed midnight and 3am wake up with music. The only nice part is the receptionist was trying to be helpful, but he owner refused to pay my money back, so I suppose it’s common complaint and practice here to just ignore the problem."

"We only had one day in Budapest before continuing our trip, so we booked the Butik Art Hotel due to the location and price. I didn't expect too much - but was absolutely blown away. Our host, Adam, was very friendly and helpful. As others have mentioned, it is tucked between houses, so it was a tiny bit difficult to find at first, but once you know where it is, it is easy to locate. After entering the doors to the courtyard, you emerge in a cute little garden area (complete with very friendly black cat). We were fortunate to be upgraded to an apartment room and it was stunning - high ceilings, incredibly spacious, very clean, chic decorations, and comfortable bed. If we had a longer stay in Budapest, we would absolutely recommend that you book an apartment room option - it felt like a home away from home. "
