"We spent 7 nights at Poseidon Villas in Skiathos at the start of August 2025 with bed and breakfast.
Despite the time of year, the villa and facilities never felt too busy, you could always easily find space at breakfast, in the restaurant area in the evening or beside the swimming pool during the day. Breakfast was a smaller buffet than some, but considering the size of the accommodation, we still felt the food was very nice, although the fresh fruit (melon everyday) could have been varied a little more throughout the week.
The living quarters are spacious and clean although there is not much storage space for clothing or toiletries (i.e. another shower room shelf). The balcony in our room was an afternoon and evening sun trap, with the bonus of the jacuzzi. 2 or 3 bottles of water and several coffee pods / milk sachets were replaced in the villa each day, free of charge. All the staff from those housekeeping to Nikos and Maria at the front of house, were very hospitable and helpful.
Bus stop 4 is within walking distance and can take you all the way along the south, beach by beach to stop 26. We found it easy to walk into and around the main town, however I would advise that there are a lot of very steep hills. Other areas of the island are only really accessible by car, motorcycle or quadbike, off-road routes covering the routes to the northern points of interest and beaches. We hired a car for one day, visiting 3 of the many northern beaches (Krifi Ammos, Madraki and Aselinos). In our opinion, these are worth visiting. We also visited the local beach near Poseidon Villa (Paplia Megali Ammos beach), the very popular Koukounaries beach (bus stop 26) and Paralia Agia Paraskevi beach (bus stop 16).
Restaurants we visited were: Akre (walk from hotel with best views of Skiathos) - we would recommend 9pm onwards reservation (to avoid the wasps) although earlier you will see the sunset. Lyhnari (great family feel). Asprolithos (best food we had on the holiday although service was a lot slower than expected with lots of tables waiting a long time to speak to staff - easily more than an hour after finishing a main course). Symposio Tavern (near bus stop 16) has nice strong cocktails and great pizzas. Bourtzi (Tapas restaurant at sea level looking over the water with great views of the planes coming in to land - extremely popular restaurant so must reserve).
Skiathos was extremely easy to explore with public transport for the built-up south, and with a hire vehicle for the north. We found everyone very welcoming throughout the island and would happily have stayed for longer. In terms of Poseidon Villas, we would stay again if we visit Skiathos in the future."
