Lindos Princess Beach Hotel

"We were moved to this hotel from our original booking due to our original hotel deciding to close a couple of days early. We've travelled to Rhodes on 10 occasions and stayed at some beautiful 4-5 star hotels. I could honestly write a horror book about this place. We're not entitled guests, but this place is utterly shocking. The only highlight was our fully refurbished room which was lovely. The hotel is extremely dated throughout, with broken tiles on floors and cracks in buildings throughout. The outdoor areas are very poorly maintained with very few staff attending to the grounds. Weeds and grass growing in the flower boarders everywhere, the beach was filthy with overflowing ashtrays permanently attached to every umbrella. The restaurant is dark and dingy with yellowed bet curtains and the food was very average. It felt like dining in a mausoleum. Both ourselves and our friends found large stains on our bedsheets. Revolting! But the worst aspect of this hotel is the rudeness of staff. We found the bar staff in the main bar very miserable and abrupt. It was the same at the pool and beach bars and eateries. Eye rolling was a regular occurrence, staff especially rude to our children. The staff at the pizza bar and adjoining drinks bar were especially obnoxious. We have returned to Rhodes so many times, mainly due to the lovely people. There was very little evidence of this at The Lindos Princess. It is clearly a cultural issue with this brand of hotels as we ended up being moved after 1 day to their sister hotel The Rodos Princess. Although the Rodos Princess is a beautiful hotel, we found the staff even more rude and obnoxious there! We aren't entitled moaners, quite the opposite. We will never return to either hotel, instead we will return to the lovely Eden Roc or Kalithea Horizon Royal where the staff cannot do enough to make your holiday special. We pay good money to holiday, the least you expect is pleasant staff and a smile. DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES, ITS A DUMP!"

"We stayed here as a family of 6 over the 2 week UK October half term. We grandparents chose to stay in the main building and my daughter and family chose a bungalow in the garden. Our room was refurbished, super-quiet with a large sunny balcony (sun from 11 am to 6 pm) and fabulous views. Bedroom had loads of storage space, good hairdryer, pillow assortment and a very cosy duvet. A few more English TV channels would have been appreciated - we watched the News a lot! Kettle was provided as requested and we brought our own teabags although these can be bought in the little supermarket over the road along with fresh milk. The resort is very spacious. I loved that there were sun loungers readily available everywhere (worth coming near the end of the season) with plenty of room to manoevre and not squashed up like sardines! Dining room is mayhem at busy times but joyous to watch 3-generation families dining together and having fun. We found the food choice to be excellent with plenty of variety to keep us happy for two weeks. Grandkids loved the gyros and the pizzas. Ate one night at the speciality Greek restaurant and enjoyed my octopus carpaccio and lamb. Did not try the Italian. Ventured into Lindos town twice both times by taxi. 20 euros one way for the 2 of us and 30 euros for a six-seater (which had car seats/booster seats etc). No hotel is perfect so where could improvements be made? We thought the main bar was a bit starkly furnished - could maybe do with some table lamps, plants and brightly coloured cushions? We would have appreciated some clip-style coat hangers for trousers and skirts (these were provided when requested along with extra coat hangers). Being that there are a lot of grandparents at the hotel of a "certain age" we would have liked bigger writing on the food labels. Who wears their reading glasses when they go up to get their food? We were there until 5 days before the hotel was due to close and were not happy that certain food items were run down and not replaced ...first it was the watermelon, then the grapes, then the pears and finally the dates. All in all we had a wonderful holiday and will definitely be coming back. Highly recommend a stay here. All the staff were amazing."
