Grand Hotel Holiday Resort

"We stayed as a family of 5 in late June/early July. The hotel itself was lovely, the rooms were clean and we had a balcony with a view! Getting a sun lounger - at the start of our stay it was a little quieter and we could find at least 3 together which was sufficient as the kids didn’t sit down for long! Towards the end we tended to find loungers when we went to breakfast and put our things on them so we could return after eating otherwise we might have struggled. Entertainment - there was a very enthusiastic guy leading the entertainment both during the day and in the evening, I honestly don’t know how he kept going! Around the pool there were games daily, aqua fit and water polo. There were other activities too such as Pilates - possibly the best view I’ve ever had doing Pilates! There could have been a bit more for teens, and it was a shame the games room wasn’t in the centre of the hotel but a bit further out, but that was only a tiny thing. The gym was very small and no air con so advise getting there before the day gets too hot! Layout - the photos always give the impression it’s quite compact but if you aren’t near the centre then it’s a long walk up a big hill! Luckily there was a van / golf cart to help out. Kids club - a bit hit and miss if your child isn’t very confident. My daughter missed out on going to the water slides as she hadn’t heard them say what was happening! Water park - fine for kids and teens enjoyed it for a little while but not thrilling. The lifeguards were excellent though, really friendly, helpful and good when my son ripped open a scab on a slide! Food - this was a big one for us. We had never been on an all inclusive before this and were worried it was going to be a bit samey. But we were pleasantly surprised! The food was really good, varied every day and most importantly for us they were very accommodating for a coeliac. When we arrived we let them know and they showed my son all the things he could have. They were also happy to prepare gluten free bread, pizza and pasta too, and it really seemed no bother. Plus a lot of the food available was naturally gluten free so he was able to eat pretty much what he wanted. If you are looking to hire a car this can be done easily from the hotel for a reasonable price, but there are also a multitude of car / quad bike/scooter hire companies on the doorstep and bus connection is just outside the hotel. All in all a nice hotel, good food and friendly staff."

"We have recently come back from our stay on the 4th of October for 7 days. We were in 1514 Positive points Food was good including the buffet Greek and Italian . Rooms were clean and well kept Bar staff and internal transfer staff were great . Negative points Buffett was a very minimal selection Pools were freezing Toilets in the hotel sometimes locked at busy times Entertainment staff were rude especially the main bald headed Italian guy . Overall was a good holiday but we wouldn’t stay here again due to other hotels we have stayed at on the island ( Creta Maris)"

"Very impressive looking hotel. Lovely friendly and extremely hardworking staff we stayed in block 200 which is in excellent position between the main pool and the adult (quiet) pool. I definitely wouldn’t be happy if we were in one of the apartments at the back of the complex (blocks 10+) as it’s a steep hill although there is a little bus sort of thing that is running all day taking people to and from their rooms. Our room was modern and clean. Cleaned to an excellent standard daily. Main restaurant food was nice. (We were all inclusive) always something for everyone. Again staff there were friendly and hardworking and it was nice and clean Hotel is situated between Hersonissos and Stalis with a shuttle from the hotel to and from Stalis (which is really nice and gorgeous beach, lots of nice restaurants) Entertainment at night was good catered for all really. Only downside to the hotel is at night it is waiter service so you can be waiting a little while for drinks - this is not the waiters fault they are very busy just could probably do with more staff. We went beginning of October so some staff had already left for their winter jobs leaving them short staffed at times - but who can blame them. Lots of drinks choice for all inclusive and decent measures of spirits. We were adults only but would say this is a good hotel for families there are the water slides and water play area towards the back of the complex with a snack bar attached. A games room with pool table football etc in there. The amphitheater with nightly entertainment a try tennis court behind the children’s pool."
