INNSiDE by Melia Berlin Mitte

"Great stay, the innside hotels always have a quirky decor which I love and al has really well presented in all the main areas. It had a kids area in the reception not far from the bar and some toys and games tables so great to sit and chill while the kids play after a long day exploring the city. The breakfast was great, not a huge hot selection but we all enjoyed it particularly the fresh croissants. The bar was nice and we did have a drink at the end of our days after exploring but I did think it was a little pricey not for everything but I did pay €8.50 for 2 glasses of apple juice for the children which I thought was really steep but also paid £ €15.50 for pasta bolognese which was lovely and a huge portion. We stayed in a family room on the 5th floor we had some nice views of the gardens and buildings behind and one of the painted bear wall, the room was quite basic in comparison to some other innsides I have stayed in, I had to call for some coffee and tea sachets but they were basic and no milk so we bought our own for the fridge. They did provide some free of charge drinks in the fridge which was good. The bunkbeds were good but my children are 8 and 4 so I worried as they had no real safety to them so we ended up not using the top one out of fear for safety. The room was well kept and just what we needed for the 3 day trip we weren’t in it much. The hotel in my opinion is in a great location perfect for exploring the city and sites and plenty of access to transport nearby it’s also walking distance to natural history museum and many other sites depending on how much you want to walk, I ran a 10km from the hotel and back and saw all of these sites whilst running, brandenburg gate, victory column, Tiergarten park, nueun se lake, reich stag building, Berlin central station and some beautiful canals and views. Loved Berlin would definitely recommend"

"Sadly this hotel claims 4 stars and includes A/C. Room was too hot for sleep. Management admitted that all of the rooms “are the same, they are all like this.” For the 4 travelers, but especially for one of our family members who was running the Berlin Marathon, this resulted in us having to relocate to another hotel, and none of our funds were reinbursed as a courtesy for the uncomfortable hot and sweaty accommodations ."

"One of the main reasons for selecting this hotel was the Sauna. However, the Sauna did not work for the entire three-day trip. This was disappointing."
