Hotel de la Porte Doree

"Hotel was lovely and in a nice location. I was on the 3rd floor so train noise didn’t bother me, but I could imagine a lower floor might be an issue—however they do provide ear plugs. Room was clean and cute. The only (and biggest) downside is the policy they have for leaving your key at the front desk every time you leave. This is not only inconvenient and strange, but it also made me feel quite unsafe and uncomfortable, as they do not check ID of anyone when giving keys back upon your return—you just tell them the room number and they hand you the key. I ended up not following this policy and they seemed fine with it (after an awkward conversation)."

"Close to train station. Staff were friendly. However I had paid city tax on arrival and they asked me to pay again on departure and were unable to find records on their end. Rooms are small and you can't open up suitcases. Shower is poorly designed and water splashes everywhere. Very noisy due to underground train. "

"I’m so glad I booked this hotel for our stay in Paris. I really appreciated the eco-certification and the thoughtful touches, like the vegan and organic toiletries and the availability of oat milk in the room. The room was comfortable, spotless, and had everything we needed. The location is fantastic: just steps away from Line 8, which made getting around so easy. Staff were welcoming and accommodating. I’ll definitely stay here again!"
