H4 Hotel Wyndham Paris Pleyel Resort

"I visited for a long weekend with my daughter (age 11). The price was very good for a smart chain hotel (its very new) with a pool. It's a bit out of central Paris, around 30 mins on the metro but that was fine. Carrefour Pleyel Metro is just opposite and St Denis Pleyel (next to the Stade de France, direct line to Orly airport) is about 10 mins walk but eerily quiet! Room was very nice, clean and comfortable. Shower was in the room itself (though frosted glass), toilet has a separate little room. We used the swimming pool twice. It's quite small so you have to book a slot and, bizarrely go all the way down to reception to get a special pass to the right lift and then back again, trooping through reception in your towel (being a robe if you can fit one in your luggage!) Staff were nice and helpfully let us leave our bags in the luggage room for the afternoon after we checked out. Sometimes long queues at reception, would help to have more staff on at peak times. Didn't use the bar or restaurant as heard they were expensive! L'Escale YR restaurant around the corner has really nice reasonably priced french-algerian food and there is also a small supermarket where we bought pain au chocolats, wine and soft drinks. The location isn't a swish part of Paris and very quiet (except when there are sports events) but we had no trouble at all. My damage deposit was returned to my credit card within a week as promised. My only small complaint is that the tea/coffee in the room was not refilled (the bottled water was) and the cups and glasses weren't replaced with clean ones."

"DELUXE ROOM POSITIVE : good wardrobe and suitcase shelf, comfy beds. NEGATIVE : Two curtains and one blind was broken! Great sunrise - shame about the dirty windows. Rubbish bin in bathroom wasn’t emptied from previous guests. Only 2 sugar sachets, 2 creamers for 2 people (surely we can get 2 hot drinks per stay?), the shower floor gets extremely wet due to shower curtain instead of cubicle. Mirror to see face enlarged - very low on main mirror. Bathroom door on a heavy hinge which shuts itself. One chair for two guests. Beds by window great idea - but need clean windows to make them useful. We won’t be back."
