"I stayed at Iberotel Palace in Sharm El Sheikh, located next to the Old Market. The location is excellent, very convenient for walking outside the hotel and only about 20 minutes’ drive from the airport.
The hotel is adults-only, making it ideal for travelers looking for a quiet and relaxing vacation. The beach area is very nice, clean, and well maintained. There are no corals, but the water is clear and offers a stunning view of the underwater world. The beach staff and lifeguards were perfect—friendly, attentive, and professional.
Rooms & noise:
Rooms were clean, but guests should pay attention to room allocation. Rooms such as 4116, 4117, and similar first-floor rooms along the long corridor are very noisy, as staff and guests frequently pass through. The rooms are not well insulated, making it difficult to rest or sleep. These rooms are sold as garden view, but in reality, there is very little garden—mostly soil, which can be disappointing.
Food:
Food was okay - acceptable but nothing exceptional.
Staff:
Most staff members are hard-working and kind. Some speak only Arabic, but many speak English, Russian, and Italian.
Special thanks to Eslam and Mohammed Ali from the bar, who were outstanding—always friendly, professional, and working very hard to provide excellent service.
I would also like to especially mention Fatallah from room cleaning, who was very professional, kind, and attentive, keeping the room in excellent condition throughout the stay.
Animation & entertainment:
The animation team was a mixed experience. The local Egyptian animators performed very well, but some other team members need to be more professional in their interactions with tourists. The daily animation program needs improvement—activities were repetitive, sometimes annoying, and not engaging enough. Guest involvement should be creative and enjoyable, not forced.
Every evening there was a live concert next to the pool, but unfortunately the singers were very junior, and the same program and songs were repeated every day, which quickly became annoying.
New Year’s Eve & Christmas events:
The New Year’s Eve dinner and party were mandatory and extra paid, while the Christmas Eve party cost around $150 and was optional. Overall, the programs were not very interesting, and the shows felt weak and sometimes annoying.
However, to be fair, there was a local fire show during New Year’s Eve, which was very well done and truly enjoyable, and it was one of the highlights of the evening. Despite this, for New Year’s celebrations, it may still be better to consider options outside the hotel.
Activities:
There was beach volleyball and ping pong, which helped make the days more enjoyable and active.
Diving center:
The on-site diving center (AquaNabq or similar) organizes diving tours and promises three different stops, but in reality, the second and third stops were right next to each other, which felt misleading. Overall, the diving staff were good and professional, and the experience itself was enjoyable. However, there was one staff member on the boat who clearly did not know how to communicate properly with tourists. To avoid future issues—and more serious consequences such as problems with diving certification—it would be wise for management to reconsider this person’s behavior and provide proper customer-service guidance.
Staff behavior concern:
Some junior staff members near the Barselino pub behaved inappropriately by trying to approach female tourists, even when they were clearly part of couples, asking for WhatsApp and Instagram contacts. One staff member named Khaled (a tall guy with very limited English or Russian) stood out. This behavior should be strictly controlled by management to avoid serious future problems.
Shops inside the hotel:
Be cautious with the shops inside the hotel—prices for the same items can change daily, which is common in Sharm El Sheikh but still unpleasant.
Final thoughts:
Iberotel Palace has strong potential thanks to its excellent location, beautiful beach, and several outstanding staff members. However, improvements are needed in entertainment quality, room allocation, staff professionalism, and event organization to truly meet expectations for a hotel of this category."
