Holiday Inn - the niu Franz Vienna

"We booked this hotel last minute, for one night. It was a significant distance away from central Vienna. We were able to find parking on an adjacent street, which was free since it was a Saturday. Reception was welcoming, but was unable to promise us a late check out, despite our IHG status. The hotel and room was very clean, modern and funky with a youthful vibe. However, it was quite small, especially with an additional sofa bed. The shower door is open, making it slightly difficult for travelling groups. However, there is a glass panel, from which you are unable to see through. There is also shower gel and shampoo provided in the shower. Breakfast was brilliant, adequate for our lacto vegetarian needs. Unlike in parts of Central and Eastern Europe, there was a toaster provided. There was fruit yoghurt and plenty of different cereals. Fresh fruit and fruit salad was also available."

"I'd just like to report on a very pleasant experience we've just had: First and foremost, I wish to recommend including breakfast to your stay. It's buffet style, served on the ground floor, with plenty of salad, cheese, pâté, cold cuts, fruit, yoghurt, cereal, bread, croissants, cakes, eggs, bacon, sausages, and delicious freshly made pancakes with varied toppings. There was also a good assortment of cold and hot beverages. We could choose to sit indoors or outdoors. A real treat! The room upstairs was very clean and comfortable. Not very roomy, but cosy. The bed was soft but firm. A separate toilet from the shower area was much appreciated too. Adjacent to the reception area, there are common rooms with refreshments, as well as an evening cocktail bar. The WiFi worked well both upstairs and downstairs, so we could do some remote work too. Our only complaint was that the wash basin had been leaking a bit onto the floor underneath, which we pointed out to the cleaners the day before we left, and to reception at checkout time. By the way, all staff were very kind and helpful throughout our stay. They all seemed committed to providing us with a nice experience - which we most certainly did! 🙂"

"The location is not good. I am not sure why IHG put their name on this hotel. There's only 1 restaurant you can find. Far from tourist attractions. The elevator was working crazy on that time. The manager is not reachable, and when you raised an issue, the front desk always saying to us to talk with the manager that you don't even know if that person is coming or just come when that manager wants to."
