"This hotel itself looks great and certainly has a lot of potential. Our welcome was mediocre and not overly friendly. The room was large, if a little dated. I’d ask for a room on a high floor, as there was some noise from the street. The hotel markets itself as 5 star, but there were some features you often find in 2 or 3 star hotels that were missing, such as an iron & board and a kettle. The location, right on Kärtner Strß, is ideal, so close to everything with bars, coffee shops and restaurants on your doorstep."

"Do not go to this hotel. There is building work going on, with scaffolding right outside the window and workers walking by at eye level. Then there is the drilling...you can hardly hear yourself think. We were not informed of the issue at check in, and even when we asked to be moved to another room, we were told none were available. We asked for a refund and this was refused, despite the fact that we left the room within minutes of opening the door. Disgraceful behaviour and not what you'd expect from a hotel of this (alleged) calibre. And official complaint has also been lodged. STAY AWAY!"

"We were really looking forward to staying in this hotel as it had been recommended by friends and it was a special birthday celebration for my wife's 60th birthday. On being allocated our room on the fourth floor, we discovered that there was scaffolding erected across our windows and the 'city view' was completely obscured by an opaque film. Imagine our dismay when we were awoken before 7 am by workmen on the planks directly outside our window. We immediately asked at reception to be allocated another room and were told in no uncertain terms that they couldn't give us another one. The only compensation they could offer us was 1 day's free breakfast. Our early morning wake-up happened every morning and it was very disconcerting to use the bathroom and have a workman directly outside our window. This also meant that we couldn't open the windows for fear of finding someone directly outside. We took the offer of a free breakfast and to crown off our bad experience, when we went to checkout, they asked us to pay for the breakfast as they had no record of the offer. Eventually they relented. We wrote an email to the manager and this has still not been replied to after 2 days. It is a shame as this was a clean and smart hotel but our stay was definitely marred by this experience."
