Apartments LIVVO Koala Garden

"Stayed here for 5 nights just me and my daughter who is 14, we stayed all inclusive at LIVVO Koala Garden staying in an apartment not far from reception. We arrived at the hotel late at night and were offered sandwiches and fruit from the lovely reception staff, they answered all our questions and showed us exactly how to get around the complex which was a bit confusing at first. Where the hotel was situated was in a nice quiet area away from the noise so guaranteed a good night sleep. The apartment was great, so spacious and comfy beds, the room was spotlessly clean as was the bathroom. We had a standard double room which had a double bed, sofa, big wardrobe and a balcony with seats and a drying rack. The bathroom had both a bath and shower which we had no issues with and plenty room for toiletries. You can choose how often you would like your room cleaned, we chose every 2 days although the cleaners still come in every day and empty the bins and often make the beds which was perfect! There was 2 restaurants in the hotel, one was a buffet restaurant and the other an Italian (reservations only for Italian). The food in the main restaurant was by far the best all inclusive food we have had, there was always plenty of choice for us even with the restaurant being smaller and most other people seemed to get on fine too. Joey’s is an Italian restaurant on site which you can reserve online on arrival, we found it much the same as the main buffet restaurant although the food was still tasty just not as much choice. The drinks at the bar were all listed in the menu on the wall so ordering was made easy, there was a slushie machine that was very popular with everyone, branded drink machines, serving sprite, Fanta, Coke and another machine serving fruit juices and water. There was 4/5 pools scattered around the complex, some were definitely colder than others, we only stayed by the colder pools which were a lot more quiet and relaxing so can’t really comment on the more busier pools or pool activities. Seems easy enough to get sun loungers all day, not sure if it’s the time of year of the fact the pool was cold. The staff all over the hotel were amazing, so nice and helpful throughout, reception staff always greeted you with a smile and were so happy to help us with anything we needed, entertainment staff always had a smile on their faces, we didn’t take part in any daytime activities so not sure about those but the kids seemed to enjoy them! There was always a kids mini disco followed by a different Kahoot Quiz then the main 45 minute entertainment show which was a different show every night, we got a lot more than we expected giving the time of year. During our stay there was an acrobatic/dance show, magic show, international dancing show and a couples challenge show. Although be careful around the steps by the entertainment, a number of people were tripping down them but not sure why! Overall we had an amazing time here in Maspalomas staying in LIVVO Koala Garden and wouldn’t change a thing, would absolutely come back in the future and definitely recommend to anyone who is considering it!"

"Positives Nice size rooms with a separate lounge area Loads of storage in the rooms Always sun-loungers available round the pool Smaller pools dotted around mean you can choose a quieter one Quick transfer from the airport (especially if you get a taxi and not the Jet2 bus!) Short walk to a theme park/ bowling alley. The theme park was only 13 Euro for kids over 14 and 17Euro for kids under 14. It was really clean and quiet so kids went on a rides loads of times meaning it was great value for money. There's a bar area with loads of different food stalls that overlooks the theme park. There's also an exit directly into the bar area so it felt safe leaving our teenagers to go to the theme park by themselves. It was the highlight of their holiday! Shuttle bus to aqua park - worth visiting for the day but food is extortionate and rubbish. 20 euro for 3 pieces of breaded chicken and chips. Negatives Location - only place you can walk to is theme park. We enjoy walking but the roads you have to walk on are not pleasant so it's really taxis everywhere. Taxis are reasonable though and plenty of them at taxi ranks. Hotel can also order an 8-seater which cost no more than a standard taxi. Only 7 Euro to the beach/ restaurants. Food - it's not great. 3* quality is being nice. The Italian restaurant was ok to be fair - you only get to eat there once though. Cleanliness - the rooms were ok but the restaurant and pool areas felt dirty. Cats everywhere - watching them urinate by the pool is not that pleasant! I definitely wouldn't return and think there are much better places for the cost."

"To be fair we received notification of a change in amenity availability months before we departed for our holiday. We were given the opportunity to cancel but let it slide. We arrived after dark so really didn't have a clue where we were other than we were the second last drop - off. The area appeared to be very built up. We didn't see much at check - in but first impressions were that the foyer was clean if not bit shabby. There was a bowl of fruit and a basket of sandwiches for guests checking in on the desk - the restaurant closes at 10 and there were a few very tired and hungry parents and children in the queue. The self- catering appartment allocated to us was perfectly serviceable- a bit shabby and underwhelming and a fridge that was probably warmer than the air outside. The bedroom and bathroom were clean however my bed parted company with the wall as soon as I sat down and i'm not a big lass. If I hadn't been so tired I would have laughed. We stayed for 1 night and booked alternative accomodation closer to civilisation early the next morning. We wanted a relaxing, unwinding, refreshing break but definately got the impression that we would not get much r&r at the Koala Gardens appartments. We lost our money but the only alternative that we could have been offered was a different room in the same location but we wernt having that."
