"First of all, I know this review won't be how everyone feels, just an outlook of our personal experience. Arrival and room... We arrived at around midnight, our luggage was collected off of the coach and taken inside by a member of staff. Reception offered us an upgrade as we were expecting but weren't pushy at all. We declined the upgrade and was shown to our room. We stayed in room 1051. It was in the main building and the closest room to the lifts and stairs. The corridors were very noisy until early hours of the morning with people going back to their rooms but this was to be expected. After checking our room out we headed to Burgerland, it had chips, burgers, nuggets, salad and fruit to eat and tea/Coffee/juice to drink. We were happy enough and visited for snacks a couple of times during our stay. The food wasn't amazing but if you wanted a nibble it was fine. Pools/Slide area... The slides don't open until 10am but towels still go down early. Having said that, the guy that works over that side works his butt off and will always find you a bed later in the day. He was genuinely one of the nicest, hard working guys you will meet. Over the other side by the main pool, towels were down at 6am. Security will ask you to stay with your towels until 7am which was fine with me as I am an early riser and it was an excuse to go and read my book before it was busy and too hot. Again though, we did arrive down to the pool later in the day after visiting Alanya and were still able to get a bed for us all. You can get towels from the spa between 8:30am and 5pm if you don't want to take your own. Entertainment and Team... The entertainment team were great. Obama and Zorba especially. Engaging guests in activities but not overly pushy (apart from bingo day when they need to sell tickets but thats underatandable) They were friendly and very trustworthy. There are the usual darts, table tennis, water polo and Football (slide side of the hotel) at various times during the day. The timetable is on the board by the pool. Food and drink.... For us, this is what let our holiday down but again, this is just our preference. Breakfast was my favourite, not lots of options but more than I eat at home and I was always happy with the choices. Lunch was either at the snack bar by the pool which served pizza's, chips, nuggets, pasta, salad and fruits. 1pm-3pm there are waffles and 2pm-4pm there are ice lollies in the freezer to help yourself. If you head over to the slide side pool bar say hello to Ishmael who we nicknamed Smiley. He was great!! Always so happy to serve you. The evening meal we found chaotic, if you get to the restaurant for around 6:45, you will get a seat but anything after 7pm, expect to be waiting for people to finish so you can sit down. This understandably meant that the waiters couldn't clear tables quick enough so it did look messy sometimes. The choices on an evening again weren't always to our taste but we did always eat something. We don't drink alcohol so can't comment on that. Soft drinks were the usual and sometimes not fizzy and the juices were so strong they were like cordial. Tips and Staff... We tipped our cleaning lady 200 lira a day. There is a box in the room for you to pop it into. She would leave us a whole crate of Fanta, coke and water most days. We also tipped the waiter 200tl when he found us a table and found he was more attentive during our stay. Like others, we tipped when we felt we should and then gave what we had left to the pool guy and Smiley. The staff were all friendly throughout our stay and they work very hard to keep the rooms and hotel clean. Yes, you don't always get fresh towels and bedding every day but do you change yours every day at home? The Island... Very busy, very crowded and not to our taste but everyone is different. We were happy with the slides at the hotel and aren't really sea people so didn’t venture there during the day. Its beautiful at night though. Overall experience... We stayed for 2 weeks. My husband and both children were ill. Their sickness and diarrhoea only lasted for around 10 hours and I know this can happen anywhere but it did put a dampener on our stay. We visited Alanya on the bus and highly recommended it to everyone. It was the number 50 Dolmus bus going into Alanya, cost 85 lira per person each way and you catch is outside Eftalia Blue/Sol. We went during the day and at night and it was beautiful. We ate at Sherlock Holmes for lunch on our first visit which was fab and took the cable cars to the Castle which was FANTASTIC! We ate at Downtown Steakhouse when we went for the evening which was also delicious!! Tips and advice... -Take your own inflatables, the shop will blow them up for you for 50 lira. -Take dioralyte with you and all other meds you may need including bite spray. -Using the Stanley type cups, they are useful. -Make the holiday your own. Everyone's experience will be different. -Find Migros supermarket, very cheap and a great place for room snacks. Just up from the hotel.u Would we return? No, Eftalia just wasn't for us but that doesn't mean it wont be for others. Turkey is beautiful though 🇹🇷"
