"Stayed this hotel for one week in June 2026.
Arrived early and was told our room wasn't ready but the receptionist said she would change our room to allow us to check in and go straight for lunch which was just starting.
My friend and I had a one bedroom apartment on the 10th floor with a sea view. It was clean and well equipped, with every kitchen utensil and small appliance you would need. We were all-inclusive and didn't use much more than the fridge freezer and kettle, but ideal for self catering.
The decor could be regarded as dated but remember you are in another country with different style and tastes. And everything was spotlessly clean which the most important thing to consider. Maid services every day, rooms cleaned and clean towels. Beds even changed after 4 days. Which is rare in a 3 star accommodation.
Staff were always polite and helpful. And extremely cheerful considering the long hours they seem to work.
Restaurant always had several choices for each meal of the day, several fish dishes, but you are in portugal. As well as meat and vegetarian choices, also small children's area to choose from. If you only want British food, this may not be the place for you, 2 nights a week there is an outside cooking station serving barbecue foods and one night a week is a Portuguese night, offering traditional dishes, including some beautiful Pastel de nata! Which were a huge hit with everyone.
The hotel has two outdoor pools. Plenty loungers and umbrellas although these are fixed into the ground and can't be moved with the sun.
The pool bar serves snacks mid morning and afternoon when the main restaurant is closed. But it does seem to be the same staff on at all the bars/restaurants all day, going between each one. They work extremely long days.
The bar in the restaurant only had a few high tables with stools, which wouldn't suit everyone, another lounge area would be a nice addition for the future. Not everyone wants to walk back to the pool bar after dinner, to sit outside.
There is a mini market under the hotel opposite and a larger supermarket up the bill towards the beach, which is within two mins walking distance.
The hotel has a bus stop right outside to the right which would take you to the Marina or Aqua shopping centre number 35 for €1-85 each way. The Aqua shopping centre has 3 levels of shops and a good court. Lovely day out for shopaholics like myself.
A short walk up the hill to the beach takes you onto the main strip, with bars, restaurants and shops.
There in also a small blue train which costs €5 to take you around the resort, which allows you to see most of the highlights of the area, including the harbour, marina, museum and an old fortress
Temperature for June was 25°-30° everyday.
I was impressed with the cleanliness of the streets and thoroughly enjoyed my stay here.
I would definitely return and would recommend you give this excellent 3 star hotel a try."
