"stayed here from 28th dec - 7th jan as a family of four (2 children aged 3 & 6)
Food and drink -
food is very repetitive (we do expect this at most all inclusive) but the evening meal is very bad. Limited variety and barely any choices for children. The desert station however was very good & our children enjoyed ice cream & sweets most nights.
The breakfast is nice, however, very repetitive again - better choice for children though with pancakes, waffles & plenty of different cereal varieties!
The pool snack bar & lunch time buffet are again bang average & very little choice for children. The choices at the snack bar were the same every day & the bread was stale for the burgers/hot dogs etc as it was left out for a long time.
The drinks were OK. However, the cocktails were made with cheap liquors sometimes making them taste not very nice.
The beer on draught could be soooo much better if they upgraded the cheap glasses they use as it instantly makes the beer flat!
chocolate milk for the children included in the all inclusive was a huge bonus for us though!!
staff -
most of the staff were very friendly. The check in staff were great we were greeted with a glass of fizz & helped to our room with the cases. The restaurant manager was amazing with our children & he couldn’t do enough for us!
the reception staff were always happy to help & the animation staff were AMAZING. Special mention to Angela - she is just fab! couldn’t do enough for our children they loved her.
came across a couple of not so welcoming staff in the restaurant on a couple of occasions - one being a smashed glass on the table & floor and us having to ask 3 times for it to be sorted as there were lots of children in the area.
entertainment - brill entertainment, the kids club & mini disco were soooo good for our kids!! the staff went to special effort to make sure the kids had a great time. The kids club is well kept, clean tidy & lots of resources along with a little soft play which our children loved. There was always lots going on in the main pool in the day.
There is a little park too which our kids used most days, it’s well kept & kept our children entertained.
Pool areas - the pools are kept clean & heated is a must for us especially with the time of year we go so this was a good bonus. I do feel the second pool with the splash park is quite run down & could do with a revamp, it doesn’t seem to be maintained as well as the main pool. There were lots of cups & glasses around this area & we noticed some were left for a good couple of days & my partner actually ended up moving them in the end.
Accessibility- please be aware when booking, the hotel is split in to two areas - one of which you have to cross a road or access through the bottom of the hotel. (this wasn’t too much of an issue) However, most rooms have to be accessed via steps which is not great with a pushchair or someone with disabilities. Each day we had to carry our push chair down 3 lots of steps to get to the ramp for the restaurant. You can walk around the road but this was quite a long way from our room to get all the way to the restaurant it just seems a mess around - more ramps are needed for sure !!!
room - the room was very spacious & clean, lots of space but not very much storage unfortunately. It did do the job though. It’s well equipped with fridge, microwave etc. The TV in the main living space is smart so we were able to access netflix & youtube which was great. We did have some rain a couple days whilst there & unfortunately this made the balcony and all the outside of our room including paths to get around the hotel very slippy & flooded. The staff did work hard to try and sort this but it wasn’t ideal as the water came right up to our room. There was also next to no sound proof in the rooms you could literally hear a pin drop in the room next door.
cleanliness - the cleaners we came across were lovely and always interacted with our children. The cleaning was basic but just what was needed really we always had clean towels & bedding.
Overall, we did enjoy our stay & we would return but only bed & breakfast. The food & drink were too poor for us to warrant staying all inclusive again but we did have a great stay in all. The hotel is a good 20 minute walk to the marina which we love walking so this wasnt an issue for us really but may be worth considering somewhere more central if it’s an issue for you as there are no other bars or restaurants nearby. The main bars of playa blanca are a little further around 35/40 minutes walk but I do believe there is a shuttle bus from the hotel but we never used this. There are a couple of shops including an English stocked shop just over the road."
