"Probably Perfect
I want to start with there are NO SUNBED WARS! No matter what time of the day you go to the pool, you can find sunbeds in the perfect place. This is a really big issue for me and many others.
I have reviewed every place I visit. I do my very best to give an honest and realistic review based on my own personal experience. Occasionally I will give a 5 star review if it is a place that I will consider returning to. There will always be something that can be improved, but finding the perfect hotel is rare or impossible. This hotel might just be perfect. It isn't perfect for everyone, but it is very close to perfect in every way.
Location
The hotel is located directly on the sea front and a minutes walk to several bars, restaurants and supermarkets. There is a small pretty sandy beach too which is perfect for swimming and paddle boards. We walked into Playa Blanca in just 10 minutes easily every day.
Food
Exceptional every day. Breakfast and evening meals, the food was easily the best of this type of hotel. They have to cater for a lot of people.
BAD POINT - There are not allergy labels on the foods. Nothing. You have no idea if something has nuts, gluten or other important allergy. The staff have no idea what ingredients are used either when asked. There is no Gluten Free section either. However, the team do provide a choice when you ask them, and do so enthusiastically too. So not a really bad point, but there should be labels identifying foods with the major allergy groups.
Atmosphere
The hotel has an amazing atmosphere. Exceptional evening entertainment, bars, and engaging staff. Easily the best we have ever experienced consistently. The only improvement would be dancing after the entertainment. The guests were definitely up for it.
Rooms
We have had more luxurious, but given this is a regular hotel, we pre arranged a room with a sea view. The bed is extremely big, I think 7 feet wide, so super big and comfortable. The bathroom is huge, clean and modern.
Value
This hotel wasn't over expensive. We opted to stay half-board. We don't generally eat lunchtime, and like to option to eat out in one of the many local bars lunchtime. The safe is an extra 17 euros. So with all our drinks and safe, our bill was approximately 100 euros.
Cleanliness
Spotless everywhere. Really really clean. It's clean and no grubby corners. This is a credit to the cleaning teams and management.
Noise level
Apart from the inevitable constant winds, it is extremely peaceful. We loved that there are no thumping pool music and animation teams dancing every hour. A peaceful and vibrant atmosphere around the pools.
Service
You really couldn't fault the service from room cleaning to bars and restaurants.
Amenities
Again, everything. They have 6 hotel cats, who live to one end of the grounds. They are cared for by the hotel officially. It is rare to see them, as they can be elusive, but 5 boys and 1 lady. Rifle range was fun. Crazy golf. Table tennis. Darts. Pool tables, card tables, board games, Massage, indoor coffee shop. There is probably more I missed. They have loads of things to do.
WHAT I DIDN'T LIKE AT ALL - MY LITTLE RANT
They have a Privilege Area. There are enough divisions in this world without hotels encouraging this disgraceful class based aptitude we are seeing growing. Not everyone is blessed financially, and yet those with less often contribute the most to our society. I hate this growing trend and think H10 Hotels would contribute more by fighting this trend than the poor attempt at the GREEN thing they have going. The hotel should be truly ashamed of themselves for this shameless contribution promoting division and class status. It is especially notable with providing the wannabes with black towels and wrist bands. It didn't put us off staying there, but it is a little crass tbh. All guests deserve the same level of attention and facilities.
SUMMARY
A truly lovely hotel, with clearly a very highly skilled and experienced team running the hotel. I cannot think anyone would be anything less than delighted to stay at the H10 Timanfaya Palace Hotel. We will be returning, confident we will have a great holiday and come home rested.
My thanks to the hotel for having us, and we look forward to visiting again soon."
