The King Jason Protaras - Designed for Adults

"Located in Fig Tree Bay, we have often walked past the King Jason Hotel on previous holidays and admired its location and setting. We finally booked the hotel via EasyJet last year for our August 2026 holiday and we were not disappointed! Its location is superb, overlooking the beautiful Fig Tree bay, 2 minutes walk from the nearest beach. There are also 3 sets of steps just across the walkway/path in front of the hotel providing direct access to the sea. The atmosphere in the hotel is superb and it is very well run by the management team and their front of house colleagues. We found all staff very friendly, attentive, helpful and willing to engage in conversation with you, whilst remaining professional. Everything that we ordered or requested was brought to us, very quickly and without fail. Many of the staff are long serving team members and all take pride in what they are doing. They are a real asset to the Hotel – well done to all. We found other guests in the hotel to be very friendly, and we made some nice acquaintances. Our room was a “Superior Studio (double) with a sea view”. The rooms are kept and maintained in an excellent condition. Despite this, we understand that the rooms are to be refurbished after 10 years, between November 2026 and March 2027. Cleanliness of the rooms (and the hotel in fact) was exceptional with your room serviced each day (unless you set “Do not disturb” on the message plate on the outside of your room door). The rooms are also well equipped with a mixture of “UK” and international two pin mains plugs, with a lounge TV and a separate bedroom TV. The air conditioning was split into two separate units which independently cool/heat the lounge area and bedroom area. Noise was never an issue (partly due to the hotels location) and also good construction of doors and windows. We have always been a little bit sceptical about all-inclusive packages in case we do not like the food or it becomes too repetitive. However, the King Jason proved to be exceptional. The standard and choice of food was excellent, with a wide range of breakfast items covering all dietary needs and requirements. A different themed lunch and dinner menu was offered each day, again, with an excellent variety of dishes on offer. The hotel amenities are excellent (as advertised) and of a high standard. Again, well done to all at the King Jason Hotel Protaras. We have already booked again for September next year and we are counting the days!"

"We have wanted to stay here for a few years and finally decided to give it a go. First impressions were good, speedy check-in, a welcome drink, then taken to our room, room 109. This proved to be a big disappointment, it was tired looking, with quite a few noticeable issues, cracked grout paintwork all marked, shower that didnt work well and a smell of sewerage on an afternoon. I went to reception on our 4th day to ask to move rooms. The receptionist didn't understand this request and thought we wanted to book a late checkout room, which we already had. We were called the following morning and spoke with the manager, who was realty nice, and said he would try and find us another room as previously the hotel had been full. He informed us just after midday that he had another room and invited us to take a look. This was room 507 on the 5th floor which was a lovely room, bright and airy, with a large balcony and spectacular views of the pools and Fig Tree Bay. We instantly agreed to move which we did quickly and settled in great. Food - has been a big struggle for my wife but that is not the hotels issue, this is because she can only eat plain foods without too much flavour, which has caused a few issues trying to find something but she has managed most nights. Breakfast and lunch have been great and desserts fabulous. The only issue we had one night was on one of the themed nights, Gourmet Night, I got a Mediterranean chicken fillet, it wasn't fully cooked and was quite pink, thankfully my wife noticed this before I ate it. Swimming pools - all absolutely great, very clean and lots of sunbeds though you need to be up early to reserve the best ones, we personally feel allocated sunbeds are the way forward and much better. The guys who work the pools providing the drinks service are fantastic. Denis has looked after us every single day, you never need to wait long to be asked if you want something else, they are a credit to the hotel. The staff in the restaurant are mainly very friendly and hospitable and always want to top up your drinks too. On the whole we have had a lovely relaxing week although we dont like the constant smell of vapes and cigarettes outside by the pools and the terrace at the restaurant, and feel it would be better to have designated smoking areas like other hotels we've visited. The staff are very friendly and we saw a lot of guests were return guests. We do feel, for the price we paid, it is perhaps not value for money in comparison to other hotels we have stayed at, which have been 5 star, in Cyprus, which have been cheaper, and had more facilities, but we also think you are paying for the location which is fabulous and the best views. We may well return here at some point."

"So we returned from 10 nights at The King Jason on Sunday, which was our second visit and I have had to have a long hard think about the wording of my review here. And now that I have had time to sit and reflect, I could just point you back to my last review 2 years ago, but that would be too easy. We arrived very late at night and we were taken to our room by the night porter. We had requested a high level if possible and this was accommodated. We had amazing views over Fig Tree Bay, we were right on the end of the fifth floor so had no noise from people walking by. It was my birthday and our wedding anniversary whilst there and when we opened the fridge, there was a birthday cake and fizz and the bed had been made up with special cushions and flower petals. Obviously having stayed previously we knew what to expect from the room.. free safe, proper hairdryer, iron, ironing board, tea/coffee making facilities, stocked up daily together with bottles of water, kitchen sink and full size fridge. Lots of mirrors, plug sockets, two sinks, plenty of good quality toiletries and great wardrobe space with might I add quite a few hangers (never enough but more than usual). The bed is one of the comfiest we have slept in and massive. You also get a King Jason beach bag (I'm collecting them now) which has good quality beach towels in ready for use around the pools. Now the rooms have all these facilities, but are starting to look a little bit tired, and maybe that is a bit extreme as for us that means a bit of a touch up, everything works perfectly well, but I believe this hotel is going to undergo a refurbishment during the winter period. What that looks like I dont know but it really doesnt need to be anything massive. The rooms are kept immaculately clean, with daily towel changes and regular bedding change. We would like to extend massive thanks to Samira who was our cleaner because we were there on the day of the big storm, and our room flooded out - she was constantly there with towels moping up and making sure everything was ok. My point here is the cleaner being excellent, not that the room flooded. It happened all over the place, not just King Jason. What makes this place is the staff, their attention to detail, their work ethic, their always smiling faces - unbelievable. I work in the travel industry and have never come across staff who are as passionate about providing the highest level of service, none stop, day in day out. The pool areas are fabulous, the sunbeds are very comfy, there are also cabana beds, and there are also the usual idiots who get up at 6am to put their towels out, but you really dont need to do this even when you see others doing it. There are plenty of beds to go around. The food was outstanding, again for us the best choices at breakfast that we have had, and all so fresh. Try the iced caramel latte if you like an iced coffee - beautiful. We were absolutely gutted when it was time to come home, usually after 10 nights we are ready to get back to life but not this time. When we checked out the manager Nicolas came to reception to say goodbye - we hadnt seen him all holiday, but he actually remembered who I work for! And whilst this isnt a work review, I would have no hesitation in recommending it to anyone - you seriously wont be disappointed"
