"This hotel is definitely not a 5*, even 3* would be a push. If you are looking for a nice luxury stay, this is not it. The rooms were outdated and filthy, dust everywhere and the toilet was digusting and had a big yellow stain going down the front of the bowl. Ironic because the toilet lid had a sign on top saying it had been cleaned and sanitised. Clearly not. It shows not only are the housekeepers not being thorough with cleaning after previous guests, but also the supervisors aren’t checking the rooms properly before allowing new guests in. The bath was horrible, full of mould. No liquid hand soap to wash our hands. All the towels we received were stained. We stayed for 7 nights and our room was only cleaned once.
Multiple COCKROACHES in the bathroom, coming from gaps under the bath that haven’t been filled properly. My partner and I had to tip out our suitcases and shake off all our clothes to ensure they hadn’t crawled in our luggage. The pillows were absolutely disgusting- thin, full of lumps and completely yellow. I didn’t want to lay my head on it even with the cover on. We asked for a room move but they were supposedly ‘fully booked’ which is unlikely as it was off-peak time (end of November) the hotel was very quiet during our stay. It was clear that the reception staff did not care at all and wanted to save themselves from doing extra work. Their attitude was horrendous.
They were very unapproachable, never bother to greet you and looked miserable all the time. We didn’t see them smile once. When mentioning issues about the room, it seemed like we were bothering them and nothing was done to resolve the situation. Not only are the reception unfriendly but the staff member at the front door always looked bored out of his mind everyday and falling asleep in the chair multiple times which does not give a good impression to guests. Instead of sleeping he can stand up to greet guests entering and leaving the hotel.
Safety wise, the room door cannot be locked. Although only staff has access to rooms, there were occasions where they would open the door immediately after knocking just once. Gave us no time to respond or get decent. It’s the first hotel we’ve been to that doesn’t have a lock or chain, even 3 star hotels have this feature. Not allowed irons in the room due to safety hazards but other electrical items such as curlers/straighters allowed?
Food was disgusting, many times inedible and cold. We found some of the food had a horrible sour taste as if it was off. Found a long black hair in the food, had to notify the staff and they replaced the container at the buffet. Breakfast was fine, decent options. Entertainment was so boring, felt like a retirement home. Definitely not a good hotel for young couples. Staff at the spa were friendly and the pool was nice but the outdoor bar is very run down. You have to collect and return your beach towel each time, otherwise you’d get charged per towel. Gives a cheap feel to the hotel and not like other 5* hotels we’ve been to. The beach was nice but not kept well, looked messy with sunbeds tipped upside down.
Location was good, very very few places open as it was off peak time but I’m sure in summer it would be nice.
Ultimately, the whole hotel needs a huge renovation and the staff need to be retrained on how to treat their guests. By far the worst hotel we’ve ever been to. Have seen 3* hotels with much better cleanliness, entertainment and staff service. Honestly, we couldn’t wait to leave so I would not recommend this hotel to anyone or EVER return."
