"I am extremely disappointed with my recent stay at the Park Plaza London Riverbank. When I arrived in my room and pulled back the duvet, I immediately noticed a visible stain beneath the sheet. After lifting the sheet to investigate further, I discovered a clearly visible blood stain on the mattress protector. This is absolutely disgusting and completely unacceptable for a hotel of this supposed standard.
I went straight to reception to report the issue, only to be asked what I wanted to do about it. I was given the option of moving rooms or having the sheets changed. I asked them to do whichever would be quickest, and someone came to change the bedding. While the immediate issue was eventually addressed, the fact that I had to discover and report something like this in the first place is appalling. Guests should not have to inspect their beds for blood stains before they can feel comfortable getting into them.
What makes this experience even worse is that this is the third time I have stayed at this hotel, and the third time I have experienced a cleanliness issue. At this point, it is difficult not to question the hotel's housekeeping standards, cleaning procedures and overall approach to hygiene. Having repeated problems across three separate stays suggests that this is not simply an isolated mistake, but a recurring concern that management urgently needs to address.
I have photographs documenting exactly what I found, so there can be no ambiguity about the condition of the bed when I arrived.
A hotel room should be clean, hygienic and ready for a guest's arrival. Finding a visible blood stain on a mattress protector falls far below even the most basic expectations. The fact that I have now experienced cleanliness issues on every stay makes this particularly unacceptable and has seriously undermined my confidence in the hotel.
I would strongly question whether this hotel is maintaining the standards of cleanliness that guests should reasonably expect. Regardless of the hotel's location or reputation, basic hygiene should never be optional. Management needs to take these repeated issues seriously and review its housekeeping procedures rather than leaving guests to discover problems themselves.
Based on my experiences, I would not recommend the Park Plaza London Riverbank to anyone who values cleanliness and hygiene. Three stays, three cleanliness issues, and now a blood-stained mattress protector. Absolutely unacceptable."
