DoubleTree by Hilton Bath

"Fabulous location and beautifully presented hotel. Very comfortable rooms and wonderful staff. I turned up here after a very upsetting episode with the Travelodge Bath central (see review) I wasn’t confident there would be a free room, but luckily yes, I could have cried with joy (actually I think I did) I was so relieved after TL ordeal and Emiline (sorry if this is not correct) and Doubletree saved my whole weekend. Also the warm welcome cookie really cheered me up. Thank you. 😘"

"THE GOOD: Great location, easy walk from the train station. Check in staff were wonderful, helpful and friendly. Breakfast had a great selection of everything you could want, cereals, fresh fruit, pastries, plus hot "buffet" and poached eggs made to order. Breakfast staff were good clearing dirty dishes, and special mention to Mateo at breakfast, who was so cheerful and helpful. Room is large and great to have a kettle as well as coffee pods. Bed was really comfortable and AC worked well, plus you can open the windows - was a in a superior room facing the river. Elevators worked well and fast. THE NOT SO GOOD: Although room was clean, the toilet, when walking into the bathroom, you could see a lot of brown limescale staining around the top of the bowl, especially at the back, and obviously hadnt been cleaned properly for some time (as I said was staining - not "fresh stains" so to speak. Would I stay again in in Bath - yes I would, mainly due to the great staff."

"I received my room very late, under the pretext that they were cleaning. Well, I told them I would go out for a walk and return later, and I came back at seven in the evening. Upon entering, it was not clean. There was scattered hair in the bathroom, and the coffee preparation area was unclean, covered in dust. The refrigerator was also unclean, with leftover juice. I hated the place. I paid more for an upgrade, and this is what happened to me. I will not return to the hotel again. They do not have parking or a porter service. I will not give it one star either; it does not deserve it, and the price is high for the service. The room is full of dust. What is this? I did not expect this. I want service for the money, and I did not get it. I do not recommend anyone to book this hotel."
