"First time at this hotel we are a family of 3 with an 15 yo boy, we were greeted with a smile as soon as we arrived, check in was quick and a friendly porter took our cases. We requested a sea view room which didn’t disappoint as it overlooked the pool too.
I don’t think you could go hungry here, plenty of options whether you are in the main restaurant or the Beach bar or aqua bar which offer food also. There’s a bistro open from 4pm till 7am with a menu and it’s cooked to order. Ice creams available most of the day and a patisserie which is open 10-4, also available is the passion bar which you can get smoothies, frozen cocktails annd slushies and is a disco at night time.
There is a main bar which has a good selection of alcoholic drinks, soft drinks, cocktails, mock cocktails and hot drinks
Although there was a big selection I found these to be quite weak especially in cocktails but it didn’t stop me from drinking them. There is also a coffee shops which is open till 11pm
Pool area is spacious and I didn’t have a problem getting a sunbed, there are loads of beds available on the grass area too and down by the beach itself.
The pool was very cold but we did go in.
There is an inside pool which was warmer and it opens on to the outdoor pool area which is good. The little kids pool is covered so they don’t get the sun beaming on them. We didn’t try the slides as they are in another area so can’t comment on what they were like.
The sea was lovely and clear and the jetty is a perfect way to see the sunrise and sunset, you can also feed the fish on the jetty which there is plenty. The beach is lovely and sandy to start with but as you go into the sea it’s pebbles with some sand spots, we use sand shoes just to ease our feet, Watersports is available on the beach and you are given leaflets.
Entertainment for this time of year good, the Ents team work hard, we were offered boccia, volleyball and darts which was a good laugh. On the evening there was kids club, lives singers, Latin dancers, Brazilian dancers, live bands, game show and karaoke.
Towels are included here, so when you check in you are given cards for your beach towels which can be collected from the spa area. We did not use the spa however a man comes around the pool and beach area every day to see if you want one. After a few days they do recognise you and leave you alone.
We had a choice of Al a carte meals whilst here and we did the Italian which was amazing, the food was lovely and couldn’t fault the service either. We would definitely recommend this but there is also a Mexican, fish and Turkish Al a carte to choose from.
We have been here for 11 nights so we have found the majority of staff to be very helpful and friendly, smiling, joking and nothing is to much trouble, we have on occasion had a couple of members of staff be a bit blunt, offish and slightly rude but this has been an exception.
Our jet2 rep was friendly and helpful and we had 2 day trips which I would recommend. We did the beautiful Alanya, which had a trip around a citadel and a cable car experience with added boat trip and some shopping in Alanya, lunch was included but not drinks and prices for these seemed to be quite high but prices were on the tables.
And then we did jeep Safari which was amazing, it was fun, fast and entertaining, there was a paparazzi guy who did tools pics throughout the jeep experience and also had drones and whilst on a boat trip he Downloaded them and you could buy them, once again lunch was included at the green canyon after the boat trip and again drinks weren’t but this time they offered you drinks and no prices were available and quite high
We took a bus into the managvet market which cost 1.50€ it’s an experience and be prepared to haggle your life away, nothing is priced and they start very overpriced and then you need to give your best price and if they say no walk away and then they accept whilst following down the market 😊
Side old town is a must and again catch a bus, there is also a market there and loads of shops and sight seeing.
Overall a lovely hotel and holiday and we will be back, thank you hotel Arcanus"
