"Scottish couple- mostly Russian, German and Polish guests at this hotel when we stayed. It did feel more geared towards these tourists.
Check in was great- the bellboy taking our bags to the room was very pleasant and told us we wouldn’t be able to hear the entertainment from our room in the main building, which strictly speaking was true 😅 although we absolutely could hear the hotel next door, as well as the room behind us at times.
Room- Our room (sold as a ‘garden view’) looked out into the alley between us and the next hotel, and the next door hotel pool. Hardly picturesque- we did talk to our rep the day after we arrived about this who said he’d handle it, literally never heard about moving again lol. The bed was comfortable enough and the room was fine- small but serviceable. It was a bit scruffy though with there being a large area of visible historical damage to the doorframe. The bathroom was small and the toilet had a very weak flush. I believe it was the same for all main building rooms, despite being fine in the toilets round the pool etc. the shower was basic. The building and grounds were alright, quite dated/cramped in some areas and nice in others. The rooms do not seem to get a full clean daily, just bed made and fresh towels. Our toilet and the floor was a bit grubby by the last few days.
Pool- areas were fine, lots of beds no matter what time you go down. There is really only 1 main pool and the flume area, as well as a small indoor one at the spa. The drinks around the pool were pretty nice, it was the branded rum (Havana 3). It rained a few times and the staff were very active in sweeping the water away from the areas after. There is fairly loud music round the pool at all time (didn’t both us, could others) and the entertainment team ask you to get involved but not really too pushy. We loved the flumes and the lifeguards there both seemed very good natured.
Beach- Beach area is pretty cramped, about 80 beds all very close to one another and you need to be down for about 8 to save them. People do leave throughout the day but if you wanted to be there all day, something to keep in mind. The beach is packed with slots for other hotels also, not a lot of space at all.
Spa- had a hamam/massage package with my partner at the start of the week and was offered a deal on 3 more hour long massages with face mask which totalled €100- fabulous value and I felt very pampered. My masseuse Ali was great. You can use the facilities for free also. My only qualm would be that the changing area is minuscule- 1 shower, 1 toilet and some lockers, no privacy to change at all. There was also at times a pretty horrible sewage smell lingering.
Food- repetitive, I do not eat meat and was really stuck to salad, rice, pasta, soup, cheese pizza/pide and cooked veg all week in the main restaurant. It’s very very hard to eat well as a veggie here- I felt I just had sides for every meal. Sometimes the food was not fully labelled as being vegetarian so had to guess. I got very little protein while here except for mainly at breakfast (cheese, beans and sometimes eggs). The beach and pool snack bars have an even smaller selection so it’s really pizza and chips and maybe salad when eating there. The food was pretty random, would see some things daily and other things maybe once only. We were both quite disappointed with breakfast with their not being a lot of sweet options-mostly sausage, salad stuff and chips/onion rings??? All in all pretty basic and did feel more aimed at the Eastern European and Russian guests.
Other things to note: dinner time (and sometimes lunch time) is chaotic. The space does not feel large enough for max guest capacity (>600) and the food area itself is pretty small, it is like feeding time at the zoo dodging other guests to get food. There are only a few staff members in the area cleaning up and you’re sometimes sitting with used plates on your table for a while. You also have to go get your own drinks from the bar, including water. Basically all of the salt and many of the pepper shakers are fully blocked and you need to unscrew the bottom to get it out which was super irritating by the end of the holiday.
Grounds- quite nice, cats were lovely and were very good natured- honestly the highlight of my time there. There is lots of plants around the grounds which are well kept. You’re very close to other hotels and it does feel a little cramped.
Location- good, lots of shops for souvenirs etc nearby, 30-40 min bus to Antalya and 15 mins from Kemer.
Staff- polite and helpful. In general do not speak very good English and needed to translate using phones- no fuss for us, their English was definitely more accomplished than our Turkish. Always seem to be busy doing something.
Conclusion: Overall the holiday was fine. We wouldn’t come back, but in general the repeat guests seem to be those who really engage with the entertainment team whereas we enjoy a quiet holiday reading and playing cards. The area is nice enough and feels safe, and the mountains behind the hotel are very impressive. There is a lot of basic food and drink and if you eat meat you’ll probably be fine, if not particularly spoiled for choice. The buildings were fairly clean and the staff friendly. While here the guests weren’t too loud or rowdy and we had a peaceful enough time.
