"We visited La Siesta in July 2026, a last minute holiday with a 4 year old and 3 month old baby.
Room:
Overall we were impressed with the room, we booked a Club Alexandra room with a pool view and spa access. Our room was always cleaned to a high standard and it was lovely to sit out on the balcony overlooking the pool and listening to entertainment on an evening. The only downfall to the room was a lack of storage space, the space we had was not adequate for 4 people and we are not over packers.
Food & drink:
Good selection of drinks on the all inclusive. Food is an area we feel could be improved and it was very repetitive. We read mixed reviews about food prior to arriving so we were apprehensive, but we didn’t let it ruin our holiday. We always found something to eat for breakfast; pancakes, cooked breakfast, fruit etc. Lunch time my little boy liked eating at the snack bar each day. The two days we went in for lunch a member of staff took our drink order when we arrived and we still had not received our drinks by the time we’d finished our food which I assume they just forgot. We were not overly impressed with the evening meals and therefore ate out for the rest of the holiday. My partner and little boy are not fussy eaters but struggled to find something that tasted nice. I am coeliac and therefore require a gluten free diet, I contacted the hotel prior to booking who confirmed that they do cater for a gluten free diet. I would not recommend this hotel for anyone with allergies, due to a language barrier many staff did not know what I meant, which could be dangerous for people with severe allergies. The only thing they could offer me was gluten free bread. They also could not guarantee any food was fully gluten free so the only food I ate at the hotel was salad and chips which became very repetitive. Some stuff are labelled, others aren’t - I would say out of all the hotels I have stayed this has been the worst one to cater for allergies. Also don’t think the key card for all inclusive works very well, it would be much more straight forward having a wrist band - less inconvenience for us and also saves the staff time of scanning cards.
Pool:
The pools were great for my 4 year old - two good sized pools and a kids splash pool, all fresh water. One day there was an inflatable which he loved and there was mini activities on to keep them entertained. The downside to the pool situation is you never knew what kind of day you were going to get, it all depends which staff are on shift. Some days you could walk down and get a sun bed at 8/9am, one day they were chained up until 10 o’clock, other days it is full of people stood with towels waiting to be able to sit out in the sun and a free for all when the beds were unlocked. Whilst I understand the pool does not open until 10am, when you have 2 young children and are up at 7am most days, it is nice to come and chill out after breakfast. Some days you were able to take an inflatable in the pool, others you were not. On our first day we bought a small ring inflatable from the hotel shop, to be shouted at by the lifeguard to get it out the pool. If you aren’t allowed inflatables in the pool I personally don’t think the hotel shop should be allowed to sell them. Some days there was music on, some days nothing. I would never leave my children unattended in a swimming pool anyway, but one lifeguard on duty just sits with his head down trying not to make it obvious that he is on his phone. This totally defeats the object of the job they have and could be a disaster waiting to happen should someone get into difficulty in the swimming pool. All my son’s swim stuff is now stained yellow too.
Entertainment:
My little boy enjoyed the day time activities provided around the pool. He also enjoyed the mini disco and face painting on a night - the lady who runs the entertainment is lovely and puts a lot of effort in to what she does. There was also a good evening entertainment programme.
Location:
The location of this hotel was perfect, a short walk to shops, many different restaurants and the sea front. Very handy being so close from the airport.
Overall, the majority of the staff were friendly. The hotel was clean and very suitable to bring a young baby - we had no concerns whatsoever about hygiene. As for value for money, I would not say the hotel was over priced, however we have stayed in much better for the same / less in price. I would finally like to mention that this review is based on my personal experience and is not wrote to offend anyone."
