"We were a family of 13 spread over 5 apartments. 8 adults, 4 teenagers and one 4 yr old. Overall, we had a super time. Some of us in our group have been to Tenerife several times and for one family it was their first visit. I emailed the apartments with my booking reference, months in advance, to request at least two rooms next to each other and hoped the rest of us would be somewhere nearby; I got the two apartments next door to each other on a ground floor with patios/ doors opposite The Corner snack bar and steps up to the pool. Rooms 104+106. The rest of our family group were spread across the self catering complex but to be honest, it's not huge so it didn't matter. If you are on Facebook, you can read two in-depth reviews of our stay on the Los Cristianos Tenerife page. This page is very useful for recommendations and makes for good reading. Also download the Tenerife ABC app for everything you need to know and what's going on to get the most out of your stay. Here's my brief overview of our stay:
Downside: sunbed wars. Piles of bed chained up until 9am. People were waiting from 8am with towels guarding the pile and area around the pool that they wanted. I've never, in all my years of holidaying around the world, had to do this. But after the first morning we quickly realized if you didn't join them, you'd miss out. It wasn't a nice experience but it had to be done.
Rooms: clean, adequately stocked for self catering, shower over bath with shower curtain (🤮🫣) room 106, walk in shower with glass screen- room 104. Hairdryer in bathroom, adequate sockets for devices, twin beds pushed together, mattresses hard, revamped rooms with paint and wall paper in bedroom, kitchen a little tired, fridge with small freezer compartment. Two patios, one from bedroom, one from lounge area. Cleaned every day. We took our own beach towels for pool/beach.
Hotel bar: service slow on an evening. Polite staff. Live music/singer most nights.
Pool: pretty good. Not overly deep so no diving or jumping in. Life guard on duty all day. Lilo/swim floats and balls are allowed. Just don't annoy the life guard because he liked to blow his whistle 😙
Site: reception staff adequate. House keeping are very nice and always busy. Gardeners and site maintenance staff always busy. On site shop great, polite and helpful. Fresh croissants and baguettes available.
Shops: over the road at the front of the hotel there are lots of little shops for choice of goods. Larger supermarket at Pasarela centro comercial Shopping Center, los Cristianos.
The corner snack bar on site: good choice of food at lunchtime, beers, cocktails and soft drinks until 4pm.
Restaurants: so many to choose from. See Facebook los Cristianos Tenerife page or ABC app for more information.
Location: well situated, short walk to beach front, nice walk into the old town where the church is and rows of shops and traditional restaurants.
It was a good, cheapish holiday for a large group to get some winter sunshine. We booked with LOVE holidays, flew with Ryan air. 2 adults, 2 children ,2 one bed apartments £2,300. Got the local bus from the airport and back on our arrival. Bus 40, stand 32 right outside arrivals, €3.20 each. Short walk from bus terminal round the corner to the hotel.
Playa de las Americas is walkable. Nice walk along seafront 20 mins-30 mins. €7/8 taxi back. Any questions, please just ask and I will try to help."
