"Stayed at Aguamar Apartments in Los Cristianos and, overall, I’d rate it average.
The first impression was very positive. The hotel was spotless on arrival and easy to find, with our transfer dropping us directly outside reception. Check-in was quick and efficient, and the reception staff were exceptional throughout the stay: friendly, professional, knowledgeable, and always happy to help. They are without doubt the biggest asset of this property.
We stayed in a one-bedroom apartment. It was very clean overall, with only a small amount of dust around the wardrobe and desk areas. The apartment was functional but definitely dated, with basic furnishings that would benefit from modernisation. The bed was comfortable, and extra pillows and quilts were provided. All appliances worked, although many were showing their age.
The bathroom appeared to have been recently renovated and was one of the strongest features of the apartment, with excellent water pressure and a reliable supply of hot water.
Housekeeping standards were outstanding. Beds were made daily, towels were replaced regularly, and the public areas were immaculate. I was particularly impressed to see staff polishing the lift doors, an excellent example of the attention to detail that sets their cleaning standards apart.
The pool area was adequate, although the main pool is relatively small. The standard sun loungers around the pool were very uncomfortable, and it was disappointing to find that guests had to pay extra to rent padded toppers. In contrast, the adults-only rooftop terrace was excellent, with very comfortable loungers available free of charge.
Breakfast offered a good variety, but the quality was inconsistent depending on who was cooking. On some mornings the bacon and scrambled eggs were excellent; on others they were overcooked or watery. Dinner, however, was extremely poor and was by far the biggest disappointment of the stay. The selection was limited, meats were often tough and overcooked, and most dishes lacked flavor. In all honesty, it was some of the worst hotel food I have experienced. If you are considering half board, I would strongly advise against it. Aguamar is much better suited to self-catering, and there are far better restaurants nearby.
One of the most dated aspects of the hotel is its policy of charging for Wi-Fi. In 2026, this feels completely out of step with modern guest expectations. The lack of air conditioning may also be an issue for some guests, although two ceiling fans were provided and worked reasonably well, albeit noisily.
The hotel felt very safe and secure, with the main entrance locked overnight and accessible only by key card.
Overall, Aguamar Apartments is a very clean and well-managed property with exceptional staff, but dated rooms, extra charges for basic amenities, and particularly poor evening food prevent me from recommending it for a half-board stay.
If you are looking for a clean, affordable base in Los Cristianos and plan to self-cater or eat out, this hotel is a solid option. However, because of the food quality and additional charges, I personally would not return."
