"My family and I (two adults and two children) recently completed a two-week stay at Laguna Park 1. Spending 14 days there gave us more than enough time to form a very clear impression of the hotel. Unfortunately, despite its potential, the experience was disappointing due to poor management and a lack of basic standards.
The Rooms & Housekeeping
The cleaning service is highly superficial. Even though they visit every two days, we often found dirt and dust on the floor immediately after the maid had "finished." A major design flaw in the rooms is the complete lack of hangers, hooks, or bedside tables. Finding a place to store clothes and personal items for four people was an ongoing struggle.
What was truly shocking for a 3-star hotel was the total absence of basic toiletries. We were provided with zero soap or shower gel—a basic necessity that even the most budget-friendly accommodations usually provide.
Common Areas & Pools
The common areas, particularly the swimming pools, are in a precarious state of repair. Cleanliness is an issue here as well; the area surrounding the children’s pool was consistently dirty, which is quite concerning when you have young kids playing there.
The All-Inclusive "Ordeal"
This was our first time booking an All-Inclusive package, and based on this experience, it might be our last.
Food Quality: The food is extremely basic and clearly made with low-quality ingredients.
Capacity Issues: The restaurant is simply not large enough to handle the number of guests. During the final days of our stay when the hotel got busier, we had to queue for up to 30 minutes just to enter the dining room.
Disorganized Service: The turnaround is frantic. On several occasions, we stood up to grab dessert, and by the time we returned, our table had already been cleared and given to other guests.
Extra Costs: We ended up eating out at restaurants or buying groceries at the local shop most of the time because the hotel food was so unsatisfactory, which defeats the entire purpose of paying for All-Inclusive.
Staff & Location
On a positive note, the location is great—no complaints there. The staff members themselves are hardworking and try their best, but they are clearly overwhelmed and "outnumbered" by the situation.
Verdict
The blame lies squarely with the management. The hotel is poorly run, lacks maintenance, and fails to provide the basic comforts one expects on a family holiday. We will not be returning."
