"Firstly, a massive thank you to all Customer Liaison and Reception Team staff.
I emailed the hotel a couple of weeks prior to arrival with a few specific requests, due to health conditions, which they provided without hesitation.
I found all the staff to be very polite and courteous, and always engage in conversation (even with the language barrier)! Those who complained that Reception Staff were rude and uncooperative, must have been rude to them in the first place (I did witness a few guests being very demanding and rude whilst there).
The hotel was spotless, and the water filter machine on each floor, in the lift area, was a great idea.
All inclusive
I was in room 638, and had a massive bed, and a side Seaview. I requested a mattress topper, which was already on the bed for my arrival, along with extra hangers, again, which were already in the wardrobe.
I slept incredibly well every night, so much so, I sometimes didn't want to get out of bed!
I opted for their Eco Friendly housekeeping option (every other day), which worked well for me.
Restaurants and Bars
The food was good, but being there for a fortnight became somewhat repetitive.
Breakfast was definitely the best meal if the day.
Staff sometimes removed half finished plates when I got up to get something else!
Drinks at all mealtimes were self service, which is fine.
Bar drinks were all premium brands, which was lovely.
Pool bar was good.
Negatives
I felt the All Inclusive snack bar could be a lot better. It was pretty much the same food every day, from burgers, hotdogs, pizza, pasta, a variety of salads and meats etc. The pizzas were very dry and the burgers were awful.
I found the Reception and bar area lacked atmosphere, both decorative and ambient wise.
The furniture is bland and old fashioned, it is very starkly decorated (I could be anywhere in the world as there was no Canarian feel/ theme whatsoever) and the massive TV screen on the right hand wall as you walk into the bar area was a turn-off for me.
Personally, there is plenty of empty floor space on the dining room and entertainment room floors, where I feel this could be better placed - they could use the entertainment room bar to get drinks from.
Alternatively, the TV could be moved towards the back end of the bar, past the entertainment stage, where it won't be such an eyesore!
As mentioned by previous guests, there are not enough lifts, however, it was a great way to get up close and personal with other guests!
Smoking Areas
Yes, it's a disgusting habit, however, it is still legal to purchase cigarettes etc, but we're very much an after thought, and in my opinion, often discriminated against.
I fully agree smoking areas should be in a separate areas, however, the area outside reception, overlooking the children's pool, could do with comfy sofas, tables and chairs, along with outdoor heaters, under the sheltered area by the sliding doors.
It's not too far from the bar area either.
You can also smoke outside the main entrance (however, they have removed the inner ashtray itself from the bins, which defeats the object)! This does need to be rectified!
Lastly, there is a small smoking area by the Boules/Petanque area, next to the side gate to the steps to the beach.
General Area
Although there were plenty of bars, shops and restaurants in the area, I didn't feel it was as nice as other areas in Costa Adeje.
I'd previously stayed at GF Isabel and Fanabe, and found the coastal area around there prettier.
Overall experience
Apart from the weather, it was a good, relaxing break and I do recommend the hotel based on the customer service support alone.
However, I like a little more authenticity and ambience, (decor /atmosphere wise) and like to try out different hotels, so at this moment in time, i do not plan on returning anytime in the near future. However, I do believe the hotel is having a makeover, so I will definitely keep my eyes open for future updates/reviews.
I know one thing for sure, wherever I stay, future Customer Liaison teams will have their work cut out to match the very high standard I received here.
Thank you all once again!"
