"We had a fantastic stay at the Melia Sevilla hotel. We stayed as level guests and had a room on the tenth floor. Our room was very clean and beds were amazingly comfortable. We both loved the choice of pillows. Our only issue was although we came in July and it was extremely hot (40 degrees!) the air con in the hotel was great (obviously very much needed) though we found our room freezing at times. When we were getting ready after a shower we were both shivering. But that said it was nice to feel cold after being very hot and sweaty when outside during the day.
Having access to the level lounge was very enjoyable. We loved being able to make our own drinks and having access to unlimited soft drinks in the fridge. Snacks were good but usually limited to just crisps, nuts and pastries. In the evenings light tapas were nice where they had small wraps or sandwiches. We specifically enjoyed the cakes that came out at 4pm!
The only issue we had with the level was that it was prohibited to take anything out of the lounge. We understood this with food but being it extremely hot temperatures outside sometimes we wished we could bring a drink out with us. We made full use of the pool during the hot hours of the day, so having to go back in every so often for a cold coke was a bit of an inconvenience. Though we opted for water with ice which we could get free from the bar beside the pool. If you wanted to have a cocktail by the pool, you had to buy one at the bar. We did this once, but also made our own in the lounge and drank it there when we wanted respite from the sunshine. However we still very much enjoyed having access to the lounge and being level guests. Definitely recommend if you want that bit extra.
The pool is lovely and cool. The sun loungers got busy very quickly, assuming because these had access to umbrellas. We stuck to the ‘mattress beds’ that are on two sides of the pool as we wanted to make most of the sun. These were very comfortable, though when it reached very hot temperatures the beds did become very hot so you had to be careful. At some points so did the pool towels too! But that is Seville in July! We also noticed that a few people were reserving both a bed as well as a lounger so they could keep switching, which we thought was very sneaky especially when it got very busy with more people trying to find spots around the pool. Getting towels for the beds was very easy, just handed over your ‘towel card’ and you were given your own melia towel to use around the pool. When you were finished you gave back the towel and were given the cards back to use for the following days. We enjoyed spending time in and out of the pool very much. Though we found between the hours of around 12 ish to 1-2 ish the shallow end of the pool gave access to a group of children assuming maybe from a nearby school or club. It was quite noisy during that time but we didn’t have an issue. We noticed they came everyday around the same time and were supervised by the adults they were being cared for by. They were not allowed to come into the deep end of the pool.
We enjoyed the breakfast and found there was quite a range of food. We had access to the lounge breakfast which offers menu cooked options such as eggs Benedict and avacado on toast, but as we had plans most mornings to explore while it was cool we found it most easiest to go into the buffet and eat, choose what we wanted and head off.
The location of the hotel is quite convenient, though if you want to get around and see a lot be prepared to do a lot of steps!
We came here for my mums 50th birthday and they welcomed her with cake slices in the room (I had emailed prior to coming) and multiple times they continued to put little bits of sweets / mini chocolate slabs for her.
Overall we had a great stay in the Melia. The staff were extremely helpful and kind and always willing to help."
