"We have just come back from a week at Caprice Sa Coma Park with my husband, son, and mother-in-law. Before travelling, I read so many mixed reviews that I wasn't sure what to expect, so I wanted to share our honest experience.
Staff
First of all, the staff were fantastic. Everyone was friendly, welcoming, and always happy to help, from the reception team to the waiters, waitresses, chefs, bar staff, cleaners, and chambermaids.
A special mention has to go to Samantha in the dining room. My son absolutely adored her, and she always made such an effort with him. She was so kind and patient, and it's little touches like that which really make a family holiday special.
The housekeeping team also did an excellent job. Our room was cleaned to a high standard every day, towels were changed daily, and the beds were changed when needed.
What truly made our holiday unforgettable were Rebeka and Marika from the animation team. These two girls were absolutely amazing. We travelled just before the school holidays, so there weren't many children staying at the hotel, but they still gave every activity so much energy and enthusiasm. They created such magical moments for our son. His face lit up every time he saw them, and they genuinely went above and beyond to make the children feel special. They are a real credit to the hotel.
Food
The food was okay overall. There was always a chef preparing fresh food at breakfast, lunch, and dinner, which was a nice touch.
Personally, I felt there could have been more choice for children. The cereal selection was limited and stored in open containers, which often left it tasting stale. At breakfast, there were also a few items that appeared to have been reused from the previous evening's dinner.
Lunch and dinner tended to have more fish options than meat, and although that's not necessarily a negative, it just wasn't to our family's taste. We ended up eating out on six of the seven evenings, but we'd already expected to do that as we don't usually choose all-inclusive holidays.
Snack Bar
Unfortunately, this was probably the biggest disappointment for us. I had expected my son to be able to grab an ice cream or a variety of snacks during the day, but the selection was very limited. Most days there were just ham and cheese sandwiches, some biscuits that were left uncovered, and a small selection of fruit. On our last day we discovered they also made toasties, but we hadn't realised this earlier. I do think the snack bar could offer a much wider variety, especially for families with children.
Rooms
The rooms were spacious, clean, and had plenty of wardrobe and hanging space.
The shower was powerful, although it took a little while to warm up and needed some adjusting to find the right temperature. Once it warmed up, it was great.
The air conditioning worked reasonably well in the entrance area of the room, but we found it much less effective around the bed and seating area, particularly at night.
Pool Area
The pool area was lovely, with comfortable sunbeds and chairs that all looked quite new.
The pool itself was a good size for the number of guests during our stay, although I imagine it could feel crowded during the peak summer holidays. The water was always lovely and warm, and I really liked that it had both steps into one side and a gradual slope into the other, making it ideal for children and less confident swimmers.
The only downside was that the water often looked quite cloudy, and on several occasions we noticed things such as plasters and hair floating in the pool. While these things can happen anywhere, it did make us wonder whether the filtration system could have been working more effectively.
Overall
Overall, we had a really lovely holiday and made some wonderful family memories. The outstanding staff are what make this hotel special, particularly Samantha, Rebeka, and Marika, who all went above and beyond to make our stay memorable.
While there are definitely areas that could be improved, particularly the snack bar, food variety, and pool maintenance, none of these spoiled our holiday. If you're reading lots of mixed reviews like I did, I'd encourage you to make up your own mind. We had a great week, and for us, the positives far outweighed the negatives."
